Stop in for a cup of coffee

I got home a little early yesterday and replaced the valve cover gaskets on the Swinger. No wonder why they leaked. Originals! They came out in pieces. That will help with the leaks but I'll bet I will end up pulling the engine some weekend and re-sealing it.

every slant six I have ever had pukes oil out of the side and then when I change the gasket, they usually come out in oil soaked pieces.

I'm resealing a 318 now. Just got to clean up the heads now for some paint. I hate cleaning heads. They're a pita.

Just can't bring myself to do it.. thing ran just fine, just ugly as all get out. Just gonna put it all back pretty and leak free. I'll put my time and money into the 340 once she's a comfy V8, 4 speed car.

Do it!!! :glasses7:

cant say I have used that one ......when I was younger I used to be into Pantene Pro-V in the light pink bottle but now I am settled in with the same ol. Days of changing shampoo around often are for kids.

I used to use Nexxus, but now I'm going to the cheaper store brands, Suave... :D

I've got a couple old cams from old 340 builds but that would make me do some head work, bump the compression and load the *** with some better gears. I'll wait til the package will actually work together well. For now she'll just be smooth and practical..

What about that "wen" stuff for movie stars???

Sounds like throwing money away....

Whew! I didn't want to get into a "which cam is best" thread. LOL

everytime I go to do a "quick" engine re-seal......I end up feeling like I have to paint the engine......then I feel like it has to partially disassembled to be cleaned completely and have a good paint job.

then I end up getting tempted to replace parts like cams and such and then I figure I cant change a cam with out changing the cam bearings, I mean why not for great oil pressure.

Then I end up with a completely disassembled engine when it ran fine before I started.

so now I don't mess with them unless I need to fix something that is broken.
