Stop in for a cup of coffee

Morning FABO. Been fishing all week. Won the $100 prize for the largest bottom fish in the Last Chance derby in LaPush WA, came home with a load of fish. Had to renew my Gold when I got home. Big weekend of car assembly planned!
Good day to all----DR:coffee2:

I'm thinking about going to the Mecum auction again today with my uncle. I forgot my camera in my car yesterday and couldn't take any pictures while I was there. We saw some cool and interesting things there...

There are two cars that he's interested in, the 72 Roadrunner and a 71 Charger 440 6 pack car.

The Roadrunner has some issues, but it is not a 440 like the ad says, we think that it's the original 400. However the guy home wired it himself and the electrical wires run from the firewall, under the intake through the valley pan area, and then connect to the coil and distributor with crimp on electrical fittings. Then there is a nice puddle of oil in the back of the valley pan.

We found a few "wow's" in the paint and stripes.

They just tried to put a paint job on it and did not pay attention to details...

The Charger is much better condition, but is going on the auction block after the Roadrunner (like a few hours). I think the 71 Charger is much better and he should get that one if doesn't go for too much... But we don't know what price range it's going to go for, and he doesn't want to pass on the Roadrunner to find out that the Charger is more than he can spend....

Decisions, decisions...

I told him not to bid too high on the Roadrunner and then see if the Charger is in his price range, then if he wins both, sell the roadrunner and keep the Charger.

My brother may not be able to get there in time for the cars to be auctioned. It would be good to have him there, as he can spot body work from 50 paces... I'm the mechanical guru, he's the body guru in the family...

It would be cool to hang out with both of them today... We don't get to see much of each other lately. It was good to hang out with my uncle yesterday...

An employee said that they are broadcasting it on MSNBC, I may wear my Detroit Red Wings jersey to get all the Blackhawks fans panties in a bunch (you should hear some of their comments...) :poke:

Look for me in my jersey on tv in case they happen to catch me in a shot...

Hope you got to go, Karl.

Note also: the LD4B does not have mounting bosses for the ignition coil like the stock intake & LD340 have, and you will have to find a place to mount your coil.
.
Morning guys! Question. How does everybody mount their coils on the LD4B?[/QUOTE]

I've heard some people suggest that the 340 six pack bracket will work, or get a mounting bracket and mount it to the firewall or inner fender.

Hope you got to go, Karl.

We're going to go.

I already made some turkey cold cut sandwiches with swiss and mozz cheese.

(They want $7-$8 for a hot dog or personal pizza there and no burgers...) :finga:

Got the camera battery fully charged and we're leaving from his house at 11:30 to go to the auction. It's only 20 minutes from his house. Then we park in the mall parking lot and catch a shuttle bus to the venue...

Back to work this afternoon, ended up being off a whole week in the aftermath of the "big rain." It's supposed to be a very busy night. Manager already texting "try to come in early." That rubs me the wrong way, but I know I should be grateful to have a job.

Good morning from a Hershey PA. So far it's just heavy overcast. I don't expect much here for the Duster. Saw a few random A body items so far and a 3000 mile Duster 340 in the corral for near $30K. Saw a few nice mopars.

Looks like the car ' show' is just tomorrow?? But there are hundreds of cars for sale in the corral. No shortage of things to look at. Gas pumps, toys, tools, unidentified junk...lol Lots of walking, taking a sit down break.

Congrats! What did you catch?

Thanks guys, Sunday got a 23.3# Ling Cod that was a cling-on to a 6# fish. I followed up Tuesday with a 30# Ling Cod. Came home with two coolers loaded. Set me up for the winter!
DRO:)

Image googled Ling Cod. That is one ugly fish. Very much like a klingon actually. Get it? cling-on? :eek:ccasion:

30 pounds, that must be a pretty large one, no?

Sounds like you did all right. When Mitch went out last, he came back with the crabs...

I consider 400's like 360's. They are considered smog motors, but if you "massage" them with "the good parts" from a 383 or 340 respectively, it can really wake them up...

You know, get rid of the smog restrictive smog parts and put the better flowing parts on and let them rip! You can surprise many people...

I was planning to put a HP 400 TQ on it, HP exhaust manifolds ........some older 383 type 346 heads with the smaller chamber to up the compression a bit and put in a better cam and correct dual snorkel air cleaner.

then put it in a B-body and drive it one the street and be thankful a 318 isn't under the hood.

Congrats! I never caught anything but throw back blue gill, bass, and croppie...

Why does it rub you the wrong way???

It tells me that he appreciates your help and needs you... If he expects it to be busy and needs your hard work to keep up with the rush...

If you were a slack off, he wouldn't want you early, just on time...

If you've closed off for a week, there's plenty to catch up on... :violent1:

Sounds like a good combo.

I thought that I saw a post a while back where you said that you don't modify engines, just run them stock...

I'm glad to hear that you're going to do a cam, manifolds, and carb.... :glasses7:

Like I said earlier, a 400 is a good running engine. It can easily run with a 383... :glasses7:

Yep... LOL! :D

Or the old Star Trek saying, "Captain, we've spotted Klingon's near Uranus"... #-o

That looks interesting... :-k

I have to tell you all something, but I don't want it buried at the bottom of the page...
