Stop in for a cup of coffee

Hello all. Just checking in before going to help Doug with his house. It's his day off and he is behind schedule....

Nice to see that we have two members in Sweeden checking in now.

I can't believe that you're getting snow so early in the season. Our snowy months are Jan-Feb-Mar around here. We sometimes get a little in Nov, Dec, or April, but usually not...

Well, Sweden extends a bit north of the polar circle. Where I live, though, just outside Gothenburg, the climate is a lot warmer. We usually get a little snow at some point each winter but it usually only last a few days.

Dark, wet and cold we have for at least three months every winter...

If chat is open so is the coffee shop. lol

I'm having a cup of coffee too.. no wait.. it's bourbon. My bad. Satisfying brown beverage. I got confused. Please forgive me..

I had a couple Revel Stokes myself.

It's 11:22 pm here. Time for me to sleep.

Mornin' Ters!

Today is a truly beautiful day! And to top it off my package from Don cleared customs! Could arrive tomorrow. :eek:ccasion:

Oh, and speaking of whisky (well, you were discussing bourbon which barely qualifies as whisky), I bought this for the bet I made with an old friend whether I would have the car "finished" by midsummer of 2016:

Good morning. Thanks for getting the coffee on. I'll clear away the rest of these glasses and set out a few more coffee mugs.

Good day sir! Sweden/Denmark is known for their potent Schnapps? I was in Denmark long ago..'95? Could not get enough of the stuff.

Thing of the past though, I've been sober for 9 years now...rehabilitated alcoholic.

Ters.

Well done, Ters!

Yes, we are in the "liquor belt" that stretches from Russia over northern and eastern Europe. We have a very dark drinking history. In fact, there is this hugely popular TV-show that mixes history with food. A pair of very intelligent and funny journalists dress in the clothing of the era, do the work of the era (rich and poor), talk to historians of different kinds and eat and drink what was typical of the era.

For several centuries, all they would ever drink in every episode had alcohol in it. And if they were noblemen, it would be A LOT of strong liquor, like 30% or more. NEVER water unless they were peasants who had access to a clean well. In the cities, not so much.

They've spent one week in every century from the thirteenth century, I believe. And in season two, they spent one week in every decade of the 20:th century.

Great show. But way to much alcohol. No wonder people died young ...

Hey there Mitch,Ray, Jock and Ters Yes set a mug out for me please
