Well done, Ters!

Yes, we are in the "liquor belt" that stretches from Russia over northern and eastern Europe. We have a very dark drinking history. In fact, there is this hugely popular TV-show that mixes history with food. A pair of very intelligent and funny journalists dress in the clothing of the era, do the work of the era (rich and poor), talk to historians of different kinds and eat and drink what was typical of the era.

For several centuries, all they would ever drink in every episode had alcohol in it. And if they were noblemen, it would be A LOT of strong liquor, like 30% or more. NEVER water unless they were peasants who had access to a clean well. In the cities, not so much.

They've spent one week in every century from the thirteenth century, I believe. And in season two, they spent one week in every decade of the 20:th century.

Great show. But way to much alcohol. No wonder people died young ...

This sounds like fun for someone to watch :D thank you for sharing this with us this morning

Had to go rescue my Wife yesterday. Her 06 Chry 300 would not shift out of park. Found out that this is a very common problem on the LX platform. Has a pink interlock lever inside the shifter made of plastic. The plastic where the spring attaches apparently gives way. I found a way to get it into gear and get home, but I'll have to disassemble the shifter completely and repair or replace the pink plastic thingy.

Going from 55 to 91 here today.

around here that kind of temp swing is normal ......even in the summer it will go from 65 to 100

now its going 50 to low 90s

the cantaloupe and vine stuff grows better in the wider range of temps

Hello everyone!

Thanks, memike! I'd love for you guys to see it but I'm not sure it's available with subtitles.

I've actually got the afternoon pot brewing right now. I've done a little unboxing in my thread so I'll be heading down into my garage once the coffee is done to install my crank pulley!

I sure hope it fits.

I experienced a chinook in Calgary in '98. Fascinating. We walked to work in a freezing blizzard in the morning, it was below freezing. Then we had lunch in the office in a room without windows.

In the evening we put all our heavy clothing on, hats, mittens and scarves and went out into ... Blue sky, Warm winds, 70 F and HUGE puddles of water everywhere. We were completely perplexed.

You are correct, we grow a bunch of cantaloupe and water melons here, but threw the summer we wake up at 70 degrees and just go up 20 degrees..

so far so good ....my first and only facebook deal should ship today!!

its a 4 speed for the coronet wagon. shipping has become expensive these days but to me its worth it because the transmission is a 1969 model. I like 69 specifically because its the only year they stamped the whole vin number on the engine and trans .....so there is no guessing what it came from ...I like to know exactly what kind of car it came out of ......which was actually another coronet.
