the temp thing would work for me, maybe next april I would have to show up

Busy place this morning. Good morning all.

Mornin'!

Decided to try making my own chipotle hot sauce to go with the chili.

Has anyone made hot sauce and feel like share some tips?

I just chopped three red chilies and a large clove of garlic. Then I cut three dried chipotle peppers and two dried guajillo fruits in smaller pieces and put all of it in 200 cc's of water and 50 cc's of white wine vinegar and half a teaspoon of honey.

I'll season it with a little salt later, I guess.

Yup. Added some salt and another 100 cc of water to my hot sauce and put another 30 minutes on the timer.

No, I've never made chili at home.

But my local farm stand has some good hot banana and jalapeno peppers that would make great ingredients...

Sat or today is the last day for corn and/or broccoli, I have to make a run there later...

Cut the back lawn yesterday, now I need to blow the leaves in front. But it's a little windy today, but I think I can take advantage of the wind and blow with it... (Never pee into the wind...)

Banana peppers? Never heard of it. But I'm kinda new to this whole "hot food" circus.

Anyway, the hot sauce is finished. Turned out pretty hot but not with the deep flavor I was hoping for. Added a teaspoon of balsamico vinegar at the end which improved it a bit.

Maybe it'll mature in the glass jar. I can't imagine it'll go bad. What bugs can live in that environment?

edit: Good morning, by the way.

Look fantastic! Ever tried smoking the jalapeños?

I couldn't find big enough rolling papers.... LOL! :glasses7:

No, I never thought of it, and don't have a smoker... :banghead:

But they would go great in some chili...

Ha ha, it struck me just before I read your comment that you can smoke in two ways. :D

That's actually what chipotle pepper is, as far as I know: smoked jalapeños.

If you were closer, I would send you some, but I'm afraid they would go bad in the long trip....
