Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good morning KK!

I'm sure Zambia as a holiday destination will be great, but coming here to work is another. I spend most of my time in the factories, in the industrial part of town. You get to see some hair raising stuff...

Can't wait to see me family and Mopars again!:coffee2:

Ters.

Mornin'!

Disaster has struck. Our coffee machine broke. :pale:

Good thing I have zip ties and PTFE thread tape. :D

Of course. Sorry. #-o

The water was leaking back into the tank in stead of dripping into the filter. Didn't quite fix it, it seems, but it's better. I mean, the leak is fixed but the machine still under performs.

I have to wake up fully before I read a post. I clicked on the pics. Without reading and thought that was some kind of toilet.

Had to do a little appliance repair of my own last night. Relay board on LG range. Original board a relay actually went bad. Replaced that a while back. When it burned a relay a few months ago, I just changed the board again and did not give it much thought. Looked at it better this time and believe this and previous were due to loose connection. Kinda suck using push on terminals for that much current. These go right to the bake and broil elements. I was able to remove one relay from last board to fix it. Different position, but same part. They use sideways flag terminals for low clearance to back panal, so had to run to Radio Shack for them. All back together and good for now. :D. :coffee2:

Good job Keith. I love to piss my wife and buddies off when they say, just go buy a new appliance !! LOL

My wife says just call the man. Then she gets pissed when they come out and tell her what's wrong is exactly what I said it was.

I'm a maintenance guy. i fix stuff. Its what I do.

The wife knows better by now. Her Dad was the one in the peanut gallery last night. "Why dont you go get a new one". Wife was explaining to him (incorrectly) what I was doing to fix it.

For me to not fix something its gotta be in pieces, and looking pretty hopeless. Of course even then you never know... (reference Duster thread below) LOL

I hear you. I enjoy fixing things. For some strange reaso though my wife always wants a repair guy to come fix things. I would be suspicious LOL. Except I'm the one who is home house sitting. Yesterday was a good example. We had heater trouble. Again. Told her it was the expansion tank. Repair guy comes out , I don't say a word. First thing he says is expansion tank. Her comment it was under the service contract and THEY fixed it.

Fixing things is life! And unless it involves plastic parts that have broken, it usually can be fixed. With zip ties. :D

When our freezer stopped getting cold, I called the repair man. That was beyond my reach.

plastic is easy ....once I discovered 3M 8115 ........it doesn't stick to duct tape so you can actually mold stuff out of it. I use it to fix grilles and anything plastic.

Its expensive but sometimes its not about the cost, its about getting stuff fixed properly.

I have even put plastic models together with the stuff. Only thing is once it sets, there is no changing your mind.

Great tip! Doesn't it need a primer? Often plastics release softeners which makes it difficult to use adhesives, they don't really stick.

I checked it out. Looks like a super product! Great adhesion between almost any materials!

not this stuff ...I usually scuff sand mating surfaces and it sticks

its an automotive grade product that does wonders around the house ....I have used it to fix stuff that my parents thought there was no hope for.

At 45 bucks a tube, it better be good LOL

Yeah ... those industrial 3M products are silly expensive. We use some conductive, UV light hardening stuff at work. It is ludicrous.

On aircraft we used a lot of flamemaster sealants, 200 and more a tube that was 6 oz. It had a shelf life of 6 months and most of the time you had to mix the whole tube for just a dab! Total ripoff.

they make good stuff though ......the bitterness of a cheap *** product lasts longer than sticker shock of something of a high quality that does what its supposed to IMO.

Good morning!

I'd better tear my coffee machine down to fix it properly. I blew our warranty by doing my first fix so now I have to stick to it ...

This stuff is great, you can drill and tap it if you want to.
