Stop in for a cup of coffee

Hey I have a question. What bell housing do I need to match up a big Block to the 4 sp OD transmission. Hops said I need to put a 440 or a 383 in my 85 truck

I dont think Ma put an od behi d a big block. I'd think any 833 big block bell with the bearing retainer machined would work.

Looks good and it will look even better in the car! Are you rebuilding it? Or is it ready to go?

well, it turns free now and goes through the gears ok. If it was a 50 dollar trans I would run it as is but for as much as I paid for it .....I figure why take a chance, the rebuild kits are like 150. for a pretty complete build and peace of mind.

I agree...plus the aggravation of taking it back out within a few hundred miles.

before I put it in a car ...I stored an A-body 4 speed under my bed .....my mom didn't like it when it leaked a little. Kinda had to replace the carpet then #-o

kinda got in trouble but at least while the 4 speed was there I could make sure it was safe and talk to it at night

Morning Ray. I have to run also. Off to the neurologist. Then it's off to the psychiatrist. I guess we will talk about Smurfs today.

My day yesterday was shot. Marilyn had some teeth pulled and I went to do errands while she was in there. I get back in an hour and she tells me I physically had to be in the waiting room for the procedure to ensure a ride home. Reset the clock! Would have been nice to know beforehand.

Well that will take the day

Yes it will. 45 min there and back, then the pain meds, etc I was shot by the end. Did you find a crossmember? I need to catch up on reading.

Sorry to hear about your pup, my5thmopar! Hope it's feeling better.

Geez, there are so many parts in a carburetor! Finished cleaning up everything but the float housings and the main body of an old dirty 600 cfm Holley I bought off Bad Sport.

Having my post-lunch-cup so I'm allowed to be here. :D

Know what works great cleaning them is Tidy Bowl, It is a blue liquid that you use for cleaning toilets or porcelain.

Really? Thanks! I've had my parts soaking in this "super de-greaser" but it doesn't really do much. I'll try that with the one float housing I haven't dipped yet.

It also gives it that brown/gold color to the metal. Leave it in for around a half hour.

Make sure you blow all the passages out with compressed air when you are done.
