Stop in for a cup of coffee

It sure is, Bruce. Rebuilt and hopefully without too many screwups inside.

As I was putting it together I thought to myself "I wonder if I ought to put thread lock on this" a lot...

We'll see if it will be the better carb for me or if the carter 750 works better. This one has a choke which might come in handy ...

Just saying Hi everyone. Beautiful time of year here in the South, sunny, 70's.

Was a little preoccupied this week, sister went to GA to tend to some of Dad's affairs. She is better at dealing with banks and well-meaning friends than I am. While I have a memory for details going way back that helps.

She was going to take him to Cracker Barrel and I said take him to Peking Garden because the staff and owners have known him for years. It's good they know what he likes on the menu since he can't remember! Sis said he ate an amazing amount of food and had a grand time revisiting a favorite place and the people he's known for so long.

So it was a very positive week. Just thought I'd share.

Sounds like you made a good call and your dad had a fine experience. I'm happy for all of you.

Is it true most of the guys there try to drive Vulvas? Here it seems they will drive what they can!

I just changed my gateway... Now my speed is doubled.... Vroom, vroom.... :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

You guys still hanging around the coffee shop? I just got in from the garage. I started changing my rear end pumpkin in my Swinger. I just finished and got cleaned up. I went from a 2:76 open to a 3:23 Sure grip. It's raining out so I didn't test it much but it sure seems more spunky!

I should be pretty lonely here this time of day but I'm on my second cup so good morning to anyone and everyone who's out there! :coffee:

that is going to make a huge difference .....3.23 is a good gear. I have never had an automatic with 3.23 but my 72 swinger came with 3.23 and it is responsive on the street.

I need to start shopping for gears, I am fixin to swap in 3.91 into the wagon when I have money ..... I will probably end up with 3.91 open because sure grips cost $$$

Rani, you might look at an aftermarket Eaton setup, from Randy's ring & pinion. Just a suggestion,to ponder around....

morning all

Foggy here ...looks like the scary intro to Scooby doo when they are running through the fog and a bad guy is chasing them......pretty scary stuff

I was reading your point vs electronic thread Rani...Like milking cows by hand it USED to be the thing. That was funny!

its always something

I went to put the bell housing on the transmission .......the trans has the 4.8" bearing retainer and the bell has the 4.3"

So show stopper. #-o

The old truck transmission has the bigger bearing retainer and is hard to find in Big block I think

I looked it up on brewers performance site and it checks out as the correct retainer for a 68/9 B-body trans. The problem is probably the bellhousing which I took from a 66 Coronet. Its the dang o wrong bellhousing.

I have seen where people turn down the bearing retainer to fit the bell housing.
