lkopaska gets points for identifying the crank....
I take them back because he made me sad...
Guy tried to sell me a 318 a month or so ago, will connect with him tomorrow.

I didnt highlite the race engine thingy,it was like that when i found it. The flat top pistons threw me off too...

Completely different engines.. C'Mon Guys.....:BangHead::BangHead:
Yes but a poly crank will fit in a LA block. My guess is that the owner of the 59 wanted to re-use the transmission that was in the 59 and the only way he could was to swap the poly crank in it. Just a theory.

The truck engines have the flat top pistons which is why people confuse them with the race engines.

Usually it's the other way around. Used to, guys would take the poly bottom end, stuff LA heads on it and run it on dirt tracks. The poly block can go a full .10 over bore

depending what guy wants for engine,and if crank is useable, i will swap cranks. Guess i will have to dig out my micrometers to check it.

So I’m getting ready to pull the motor and clean/paint the engine bay on my 66 Dart 270. Trying to decide if I want to paint it the original color or black. The paint code is CC1 if anyone knows where to get it. Does anyone know what the original engine color was? I also have a bunch of mopar orange maybe paint it all mopar orange?

Purists and most mopar guys will shun you if its not body colour...
Engine? Nobody says boo....
