Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well let me throw mine in here. I was home sick yesterday with the 24 hr flu. Different thing going around here. My brother went to have lunch with my Mom and found her face down in her breakfast. Got her awake and totally out of it. Took her to the Dr. then to the Hospital. They tell her she can't be alone and she pulls out of it. They send her to the home connected to the Hospital...they tell her she is too high functioning to be in there. So she goes to my brothers for the night and tonight may be mine Home care is coming in so right now it is crazy. I probably should not be around her but my siblings are out for this evening both have to work

eh close.

Well, I got all my homework grades thus far in from my first master's class. Finishing up week 2 with a 100% score in the class. Hopefully this continues!

Good morning, coffee is good! Lots of you guys going through the tests we get in this life. That's a great thing about this thread, we see that others have crazy things going on and they make it.
This is our slow month at work, getting caught up on things...finally getting to see the specialist today since I was in the hospital in Oct...hope he is worth the wait. The big steak dinner I had at my cousin's house on Sunday has aggravated my Crohn's a little, maybe seeing that will help the Dr. I am very lucky compared to some, even if I have to be more strict about the way I eat. I do dream about having them take out those centimeters that I have tried to ignore the last 40 yrs!

Going to stop and see what's going on with the Fury, and then go check out some more history stuff in downtown Charleston with my young friend, folk art which might be cool to see!

LOL here we go A guy wants me to do a resto on his 375 hp dist for a 440 70 cuda! I hate those dam vac advances! Might really have to get serious with zinc plating now, I have at least a dozen of them and all look like crap.

Sounds like a fun way to spend the day David. Not the Chrones, I know that sucks the wife has it and had some intestine removed.

Morning all....50 here today ice and snow should all be gone by tonight. Wife tomorrow, is making me go to Florida with her for a week.....I guess I got to go.

Always sorry to hear others with illnesses. Makes me feel fortunate to have good health, at least now anyway. Thoughts and prayers to them.

Good morning. Forced to go to Florida? I feel for you! Maybe I can stow away in a suitcase...

We were awoken last night at 2:32 am by a call from the local police. My brother-in-law had a massive heart attack and they were rushing him to the hospital.

He apparently made his way to a neighbors apartment and pounded on the door before going into cardiac arrest. The neighbor didn’t know what was going on and called 911 to report the incident. When police arrived he was unresponsive, no pulse or breathing. They performed CPR and used a AED to get his heart going again.

Upon arrival at the hospital he was still unresponsive and they couldn’t get him to regain consciousness. They immediately put him in ICU, intubated him and pumped him with drugs to sedate and immobilize his muscles and iced him down to lower his body temp to 90*.

Now he sits as a popsicle until tomorrow and then they warm him back up and see if he has any chance at surviving. Nobody knows how long he was in arrest before they got to him but for every minute the survival chances drop by 10%. He’s probably got less than a 50/50 chance at survival and less than a 30% chance of not having severe brain damage.

His condition is now minute by minute and we won’t know where anything stands until he survives the next 48 hours and they can begin really testing. Right now, the only focus is to keep him alive until then.

Helluva day.
Prayers sent for a peaceful outcome. I am a realist and it sounds like he is in pretty tough shape and if he survives this bout there might not be much quality of life there. Please keep us posted Dave.
