Im at timing cover and oil pan on my 318.
Brackets i want black, cast parts in hemi orange. Confused.
After bead blasting and wire wheeling hardware ,bolts are ao shiny it seems a shame to paint them.
Cant make up my mind.

They're shiny now but without anything on them, they'll rust. I say get some high temp clear coat and leave then be

Thinking same thing. Clear everything after its assembled.
But im in a conundrum,as i know i will be installing,removing parts
Brackets and adjusting things as im putting car together. Im tempted to hold off painting until after i get it running. Then pull engine and paint.
Car in pieces,loose parts everywhere,piles of hardware and brackets.
A basket case i need to figure out.
When i repowered the ‘59 i had a plan,knew what went where.

This one, not so much.
 
Kind of wish I put mine in to bet the bugs worked out then pull it to take care of the details.
 
He has over $400 worth of parts (a bunch of Moog front end parts)and several manuals and he wants an additional $200
Factory books were running about 50 bucks a piece last I looke - they're worth it. The little Chiltons and others rarely worth anything in my opinion. A few of the Haynes are useful but not worth much in dollar value.
 
You have to see what he has before making a offer the FSM is usually 50-75 on fleabay.
Trust Hoppy on the numbers - I haven't looked in years.
Factory parts books are usually valued higher as they are rare.
 
Mine for the 74 was 60 I believe. Yup always looking around for cores etc so I see a lot of other parts.
