Stop in for a cup of coffee

Got 41 degrees this morning. Weather liars say 80 this afternoon..
When I checked yesterday it said we should get to 45 this afternoon. Now the hourly only gets to 42 high, and breezy. Not starting anything yet. Maybe go get a resistor (@dartnabout :poke:) and possibly a coil - even though I believe both are good. I'd like to see what readings I get on a brand new resistor. The book says .5 ohms on low side, but I read around 2. I brought my better meter home from work... The coil may actually be the original, but still gives a nice spark. Other than 'does it spark' what's the best way to check condition of a coil?

sun card say .5-.6 on the ballast The coil check should be in the fsm terminal to terminal then center to terminal, forget the resistance should be in there.

only yours my friend!
Thanks

As I understand it the high side of the resistor is in play during starting. So I really don't think it's part of the problem.

I get new broken new stuff all the time, come on look at the rotor the distributor is the issue.

I hide my car money or it would get spent on stupid stuff. Come on car parts are serious business!
Ah! You're up and around! Speakin' of distributors I need to make a run to the beer dist. Wanna go? Other'n that I have a s4i+load of 9n parts I'd like to sandblast if the garage is available. I'll let ya' off the hook for that case o' blue beer you still owe me for, as rent.

Come on down I could use a couple of packs of smokes if you can and yes I do drink green beer if it is around!

Oh, I'm not backpedaling on the distributer. I agree, something ain't right there. I had very little confidence in the parts store rebuild from the time I put it in. I kick myself for getting rid of the old one. But you weren't doing them yet at that time. I though you were saying just change the resistor like Mr Tikey... Although I don't have high confidence in it being the right ohms, I know it conducts, and I don't think it is part of the starting issue. Don't know how important the exact value of that resistance is.
