Stop in for a cup of coffee

It brutal around here, cars kick up clouds of yellow-green dust going through intersections.

I suspect you don’t see it as much in the City since there aren’t the huge patches of woods like we have out here. After the rain, we see puddles with the pollen slime caked around the edges unless it rains heavy enough to wash it away.
It usually gets real bad around here in Spring. A visible layer on the cars and porches for a few weeks. I don't remember anything like it in North Jersey. My theory was lots of trees and plants, combined with lack of soft ground covers to trap and hold the stuff. However your description would seem to disprove that. It seems likely you have a higher ratio of lawns, gardens and fields to paving than west Philly.

Wonder if hoppy found his clips... anyone know?
I suspect he was running around mostly with errands today - I *think* that's what posted was on the agenda. Stuff like that is a pain. The internet helps a little, but often it comes down to going through catalogs and writing companies like Restoration Supplies, classifieds, old stores, swap meets etc.

Yeah I hear that! Sis has a 65 Rambler Marlin... I just found a site with clips she can use I think... 50 of them for $12.75 in stock to put her fender chrome molding back on.

Pine tree pollen is yellow-green. It will blow in waves around here like rain does.
That's in line with my other theory - this is a region with one or more plants that have quantities of visible pollen. Nearest pine forests to here would be the NJ Pine Barrens.

Same here in the Carolinas. Driving down the interstate, what looks like smoke or dust blowing across the hwy is the pine pollen. It's a waste to wash the car.

Thats great find - Hope they fit. You posted the Marlin pictures few days ago. A good catch!

The real joy of parking on the street here begins when the aphids start working in the Lindens. Sticky speckles of aphid 'dew' on everything. Even though its a 4 block walk home - I try to garage my vehicles whenever I can. However not nearly as bad as pine sap on the cars. So I won't complain.

Pretty simple, the most confusing is the turn signal switch. That is not bad when you figure out its engineering.
I remember re-wiring my buddy’s M37. Handed me a universal signal switch, wanted it added in.
No diagram. Was a task figuring it out.
Rewired a kenworth dash after an electrical fire.
And a 68 charger, his buddy put a tape deck in and burned wiring from fuse panel to headlight switch.
Whole lotta fun...

I bought a universal kit. This should be interesting as me and wiring don't get along

And occasionally, you get to relive it again later unexpectedly. Kinda like a free memory gift!
Is that anything like when they say that the only good thing about Old Timer's disease is that you get to make new friends every day?

Im not trying to be insensitive, but it is funny..

No worries. Comedy is based in the human condition.

It is indeed funny and also somewhat true.

My father has been in an Alzheimer’s care facility for 5+ years now and I can honestly say that a lot of them get joy from everyday being a new experience. It’s the in-between time when they are still holding onto the vague memories of the past that are the most difficult. Once they get past that, they almost all tend to become more relaxed and happier.

Every day my dad comes across the facility’s resident cat, he is as joyed to see it as the first time he discovered it....and that’s because it is a new experience each time...
