gotcha

thats a lapse. That is different. Insurance companies that are canceling a client for reasons other than non-payment have different rules/laws they have to follow or they can get fined, up to 50,000 USD per offense.

.
Could have been she had to get proof of insurance to get it back or re validated I think.

Right. I've ran this brand/model of tires since I first bought the jeep. This set however, was just put on the the Friday after Memorial day. They dont even have 1500 miles on them.

I'll try the car and video idea though.
I would be back at the place you bought them saying :wtf:

thats possible too. Whats stupid is here in Indiana, the BMV as a cost cutting move back in the 90s made it to where all you have to do is provide insurance at the time of registration and renewal. They no longer have real time/updated monthly insurance data. This has led to a spike in uninsured and underinsured motorists as people get insurance long enough to show the BMV as having it to renew/register and then cancel it. They even made it to where police aren't allowed to ask for insurance information during a routine traffic stop.

tried that. They told me to "go add a steering stabilizer"... my jeep has one. And I just replaced that in Feb with a very nice Bilstein one.

And you told them that?
How many tires are giving trouble? Have you rotated to see if problem moves with the tire?

Solid front axle- with vehicle running, have someone apply brakes and rock steering wheel. Thats the only way to check for track bar wear. You need to watch both ends.
If its loose you will see diff moving side to side.

As it's driving or just idling?

Yeah yeah laugh it up. I'm going on 7 hours of sleep since Monday morning.

Anyway, just did as suggested, no diff movement , no tie rod free play. I went and bought a new full size spare and had them balance it perfect, watched them do it. So I'm going to put it on and see what happens. Different tire shop than previous and one I trust more. We got talking and he mentioned that the MTR on my right front is dated 2008 while the others are all 2017s. He said too that it's cupped so badly, that it'd be near impossible to rebalance. So I'm going back to the original tire shop and making them exchange that tire. Selling me a ten yr old ******* tire is bull crap.

What law is that? Only a few states have laws regarding the age of tires being sold new and there isn’t a Federal one. The state laws are small fines only.

There is actually such a law. It doesn't ban the sale of tires that age however it states that tires older than 6 years old are not to be sold as new tires and must be sold as used tires.

According to the DOT Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; Tires, 68 Fed. Reg. 38,116 (June 26, 2003) (to be codified at 49 C.F.R. pt. 571). Cited by Ammons Law Firm, May 2014

Also, according to ABC news, the NTSB placed regulations on tire distributors against the sale of tires older than 10 years
