Stop in for a cup of coffee

I wish I knew how to weld. You know they have a huge auto mechanics/body shop vo-tech school here.
I feel they miss the boat not having weekend "how to classes" showing guys like me the basics.

I taught myself. Actually not hard to do it is all in practice.

Just do it! (general statement- not to be confused with the slogan of the brand soon to be formerly known as Nike)

This is kinda like working on an old Mopar... no need for perfection. Wasn't even close to perfect to start with.
2nd inner one done. Will pressure wash concrete where they sit. Get them back in and move the post jack so I can pull a corner one out.

@ZMan67S
get a Hobart 140, bottle of c25, and gear. Find some scrap and start burnin!
I had done a little bit of stick welding at work many years previous, but only used a MIG a couple times before I bought one out of necessity to build the Duster. First thing I did to get some practice was built my cart. Mostly pieces of pallet racking, and other things junked from where I worked at the time.

I did buy a lot off of the trucks! We had snap on, Mac, and Matco come by every other week I think it was.
I have a good bit of SO and MAC from years ago. Kinda good not being on day shift. No temptation . They have a Matco guy there once a week. Day guys always overspending on new toys...

So the Cheap Church guy, brought his XB Crap Box here, and he brought the rear shoes and drums... Put it up, look, no need brakes. Hes says brakes making noise. Pull front, find small pebble in caliper/pad...He's outa here..no charge.... This is the second time he has done this to me.....
AND.....Just LOOK at the inside of his CRAP BOX !!!!!!!!!!!

Better get some paying jobs in there to cover George working on yours! lol

A tool box wont make you a dime.
I cant justify 5 grand when the money could go to better things.
Told him i spend 5 grand on a box, there will be no money for anything else. He backed off.

And i wear gloves as much as i can,i i get something in my eye, i can whip off a glove and deal with it. Same with a phone call. Im not handling my cell with grimy paws.
I go through lots, but dont care.

I hate to wear gloves, cause i cant feel things the same. Never have...But......I keep plenty of Cintas Rags on hand, and Im always wiping my hands off. I will wear them when dealing with harsh chemicals tho. Pisses me off Royally , when I let the young guys use my shop. They will wear the gloves, get their hands as greasy as possible , and proceed to touch everything in the shop.... Tool box drawers, Tools, Lift, Walls, What ever... Then they dont wipe off anything...Including my tools...IF.....They remember where they went..........:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

I definately pick and choose when I wear gloves. I lean more toward Mitch but totally repsect it if you can pull it off TJ.

I have been wearing the disposable blue gloves. I am more likely to get covered in ink than grease a work.

It would be fun to put a big block maverick together to just thrash. Smash and thrash.

Then go back home to the demon.

Found one here in Ca .. Almost enough to make me go back to Fords  Thought about it. Came to the realization it is the same platform as my '66 Ranchero was. Remembered what a PIA it was to change the plugs in with a SB in it. With an FE in it Oy Vey :realcrazy:.

Think is is 6 trips to wal- mart in 2 days. Oh well, the deal is i get to sit in car and wait.

Strange things you haul around.tried to stand him up in the back seat, wouldnt fit.

Almost done visiting mother in law, paid for her new walker, and setting her up with the alert system here. If she has a fall or any problem, can just push a button.
Going to cost a few dollars, but peace of mind is worth it.
