Guess my wife changed the calendar. I know she liked it, but didnt think so much that she would turn the page...

Hey All... I got a new fuel tank for this 70 Duster...The one they sent me has 4 vent lines next to the Big fuel inlet for the fuel pipe. Original does not have em. Has a vent along side the outer fill tube. I dont see any reason I cant use this 4 vent tank. I'll just cap em off....really want to do it tomorrow, and not return this tank... Any Opinions ????????
where did the single vent go? does it have a canister? maybe run all four into one?

Damn Duster had 15 gallons of fuel in it....Thank god for the electric fuel pump. I was a little surprised, because I only took out 5 gallons at first, and I was worried the pump would overheat. So I turned of the key, It still siphoned drained all of the fuel though the pump, without it running..

I didn't know it would do that. Siphoning sucks!

No , I believe it just vents the tank back to the fill cap...Im just going to cap the 4 vents on the tank..Im sure it will be fine...

My day is done, week all booked up and a couple extras. Cherokee to replace heater core.

My Duster had the 4 bent lines on it. There was a canister in the trunk and one of the 4 went up front into the engine compartment. Pretty sure it went into the air cleaner. Or to canister?

Better system than the later charcoal canisters. Better that there's no foam and charcoal to decay after 30 years and end up in the carb. Don't ask me how I know this.

I found it along with the 2017 one. I also found my pics on the 2018 Phoenix Specialty Coatings calendar and the Swinger twice and my 66 once on a local Mopar group one. Next year the Swinger will be on the ANPAC Chrome calendar for my Collector car insurance. Geez I didn't realize that car was so popular. It is blue and shiny. Don't look too close. I got caught up in the shine when I bought it.

Found it!
Gosh Mike. Don't forget we were your friends before you got so famous and popular.

Sorry just boasting. I have never been there before. It's like getting you car featured in a magazine.

Looks like it might have vented into the oil cap.
That's what the book says it does.
Does yours have some sort of special fuel pump like they show in the booklet? And its a little vague, but also a bypass to prevent vapor lock?

I'm just :poke: 'cause you got so many calendar shots you couldn't remember which one had the Hellcat.

I don’t have a clue! I know how it’s set up now. But it’s totally different animal now!

No problem. The page here shows the routing, and the next page shows the fuel pump .
Heated Air Intake and "Vapor Saver" (Session 271) from the Master Technician's Service Conference
The vapor saver is just a metal can to let the vapor collect, cool and drain back.

I'm actually a bit curious about the fuel line bypass 'cause a dealer parts manager/guru once suggested a factory dealer fix for vapor lock and overflow. Would like to compare it with a factory installed cure for the same thing.

Evening all. Today has been a blast. We have the entire island to ourselves. Not a sole in sight. Went to the lake again, no one there.
