Was considering using a bicycle inner tube cut to size to replace the old rubber insulators on my fuel tank straps, any other ideas for that or for the top of the tank, other than ordering from a supplier like Classic?

I don't think mine had anything on the straps and pretty sure I put them back that way. Original top was like really heavy roof tar paper. I glued 2 layers of EPDM roofing together to replace it.

But really for as much work as it was...If you don't already have the material, I'd probably buy one. What $ do they get for them?

I'm thinking of doing a walk in at the doctor tomorrow to see if he can clear me for work...

I've moved a couple of blocks around the garage the last two days and it's holding up...

A little stiff here and there, but overall pretty good...

You guys all go to bed? Just about to take 2 pork butts off the smoker. Been on since 9:30 this morning. Just a few ° to go.

Good morning folks!

Big day today. Taking the bus down south to visit an old friend an go to a Toto gig. Should be fun. The weather is nice here, though, so I might actually get something done on the car before leaving.

I wonder where to start. Brake lines? Finally installing the calipers? Putting the intake back on?

Or will I take the easy route and re-assemble the irrelevant starter I'm renovating as a side project?

I think there's more going on then just quarters, and inside the trunk had been re-sprayed at some point.

I will reply to this because it was my car for 14 years. Yes, about 10 years ago, I repainted the trunk because of scratches and light surface rust here and there. I also painted the wheel, jack parts, cleaned the trunk striker and spare tire mounting hardware.

In short, I wanted it to look nicer. The trunk has absolutely no rust beyond light surface rust and is 100% original sheet metal.

I don't know why he is selling it, and it really doesn't matter to me, but in my opinion, the only real issue is that the car could use a clutch, or at least I was never happy with my clutch choice.

I think some if you are just getting paranoid.
