Stop in for a cup of coffee

Morning!
Warm for this time of year.
Wind has been relentless.
Was a long drive to the city yesterday. Went to partake in “cruise night”
Its quite intense for country folk to be hanging out with a few fast guys.

bac of my truck is loaded with a rat bike, ONE HUN. Pin up girl painted on the tank. 80’s Verago that he built to look like an older bike. One Hun is because he bought it for one hundred dollars.

Lots of cars show up, like a flash mob. Then buzz down the main drag to a different location. There were some lunatics, playing pretty hard on the streets..

We drove Mr. Buddy's truck into town today for the first time since getting the new engine running to put gas in it. Old man can shift that Muncie purdy dang good. It didn't get over 140 degrees the whole time, except when we cut it off. lol

Finally a Gravy job today. 2015 Toyota Venza, front and rear brakes and rotors, PCV valve, Cooling flush, and clean throttle body...KKKKKKKK

Soooo wife thinks I’ve gone off the deep end and all “mad max”.

seeing and hearing all these reports of no cell service or phone or internet and people not able to check in got me to thinking. I have a couple Hamm Radios I bought from my days of Search of Rescue work. They fully function and are still programmed to many of the main channels fema and the Red Cross uses for SAR as well as 150 common frequencies used by civilians. So I went this morning to Harbor Fright, got a couple small water tight plastic ammo cans and now each vehicle plus the house is now fully equipped with mobile radios and 12v chargers. Plus made step by step instructions on how to use in case **** hits the fan.

In reality, our area while not mountainous, is surrounded by multiple rivers and large hills, all it’d take is one good size tornado or flood and we’re cut off like TN/NC is currently.

Check into an HF rig for longer haul. Keep in mind that having something you can run off a car battery or power bank...

These are VHF with UHF capabilities though not currently tuned to UHF , I’d have to reprogram.

Each radio has 2 spare batteries that I just tested and all amazing still work, doing a standby draw test on one now. Plus a 12 volt plug in car charger. Was thinking of getting a couple spare 12 volt solar panels to keep in each vehicles, the folding type harbor freight has but I thought that might be a bit overkill and teetering on the edge of going down the rabbit hole
