Pinion is way too deep... already ordered a bearing puller, beam wrench and that fun stuff... will order shims after i get it apart and actually try to do it right
good practice for when i change gears one day.. Also.. that pattern paste goes a LONG way... just crazy how little it takes

Yeah, that pattern is pretty jacked. What case is it? One uses a solid spacer and the other 2 use a crush sleeve. I know 489 uses a crush sleeve. it's a 742, whats funny is it was given to me by a hemi racer that owns a local dyno shop and still had pattern marker on it... so they set it up like that and said good enough.. dunno.. not gonna complain bout a free pig.. just glad it's off that much so i might have a chance of making it quiet

742 and 741 are shimmed pinion. 489 as said is crush collar type. I might be wrong here but I think some numbers on the gear give you a shim size to start with? I thought RRR said something about this a few weeks back but may be mistaken. @RustyRatRod
@RustyRatRod If you do see this **** bout rear ends, since i don't have a 240lb torque wrech, ok to air gun down a 742 since there is no crush sleeve anyway?
