I have to be careful as I have about 7-8 runs left on the tires, the tune up on max kill so I'll have maybe 10 good hits before it ***** and I'm saving all that for jpar.

I was starting to have some serious concerns about those old Dunlop qualifiers I mean I like them in the day, but not from the day! LOL

My wife said last night (I'll let you heroes figure out when the conversation took place) that I can put new shoes on all four corners!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I'm going to run pizza cutters up front and big honking meat in the back.
May need to dig out my old air shocks to make the big donuts fit in the back. I'll be able to hook and book with my new shoes!!!!!!!

I see a lot of guys with check book motors which swear up and down their car makes X HP and runs the 1/4 in X number, with NO time slip or dyno sheet. You know how they know this?

Pretty freaking hard to beat powells. Been going there since 1987. I'd hate to add up how much of my money they have of mine but it's a lot.
I can burn an entire day there and not even know it.

Okay here's the real deal. Our very first time at the track since last year and definitely the first time I've had a motor in it that would go over a hundred miles an hour in the quarter mile. I did get the car on the freeway after the alignment with the rebuild the front end up to 60 miles an hour but definitely not up to a hundred and twenty! So I was in no big hurry my first time to the Dragstrip to kill myself! I left all my street tires all the way around on the car and was not trying to launch the car whatsoever. I let out the clutch in first gear and took first all the way to about 5 grand with the first third throttle of 1 carburetor. Then second gear I got into the second carburetor just a little bit and then third gear I started to Floor it a little bit and by 4th gear I could open it up pretty good without getting the tires loose. I've got it up to a hundred and ten and it felt good.
The track was hot as hell as always (85°! 73° everywhere else I crap you not!) (I'm an Oregonian and 73° is perfect summer temperature!) and they were doubling up everybody because it had been raining the months before. So we got two practice passes and I actually got a little traction on that last race the first Elimination race and was way way way too far ahead of him when I got into 4th and instead of tapping my break I stupidly let off and he blew by me like I was standing still LOL oh well had a good day.
