alot of time has passed, and many other projects have been an obstacle now its time to make a determined attempt to move ahead on this. at this point i have started with the mini tubs. first i cut out the inner portion of the wheel house. then i drilled out the spot welds of the floor from the rear rail. and then removed a two inch section of the floor . from there the top lip of the rail was trimmed away and took the two inch floor section and used it to cap off the rail

Glad to see your getting some work done on your own car.

Nice to see a progress update, I always enjoy seeing pictures of a top quality build.

this time the makings of the right rear mini tub. well almost. this is how far i was able to get today before calling it quits. but i set myself up pretty good. all i need is the filler strip and then the rest of the welding can take place

You really do clean O.E M. looking work, not the usual quickie flat rate shop work.Well done...

Amazing project, Ric, from another old salt.

Cracks me up to see the latecomers chime in with "here's what you should have done..." There are a couple of things I'd have done differently, but you didn't! And as I always say: Your car, your money (and time and SKILLED labor), YOUR choices!!

Looking forward to seeing more progress and excellent pics and completion!

thanks. not to worry i still have a few tricks up my sleeve

Looking good Rich, Glad to see you back at it. I want to see what you have come up with for the roof line.

So one thing I noticed on both renderings is the use of Valiant doors with the strait upper fender feature. Are you considering that or sticking with the Lancer doorswith the turn down? I've always liked the Valiant doors better, but hey it's your car! Which I might add ROCKS!

today i was able to make the passenger motor mount. pretty cool the way the mounts drop right into the original mounting holes on the K-frame. the steel oil pan i chose didn't need any modifications. the steering linkage clears nicely. just a little trimming was needed on the rear portion of the k-member.
I’m starting to compile a list of parts for a future swap. Which oil pan did you use?
