tired of every thing getting smaller

My neighbor had chickens and a garden. He was fined because it was illegal to grow your own produce in a residential area

What the hell kinda chicken s*** ordinance is that?

Sounds to me like it's time to remove some local politicians.

Try and keep a horse for transportation. They will take it and sell it. Not having to pay your way through life is only for the Amish. Is this really the land of the free. Not anymore. The northeast sucks.

Wow, that's ridiculous. You should be able to grow your own produce and livestock on your own property as long as the land can support it... meaning cows on a 1/4 acre, well I can see that being an issue.

I tell you when the government takes away a man's right to provide food for his family it's time to take away the governments power in that respect.

I saw an interview on T.V. with a producer of potato chips about this topic.
She said that the consumer wanted smaller portions in the same size bag, that's why they do this. She also stated that the packaging cost remains the same, that's why the cost remains the same. The actual product inside the bag doesn't cost very much to the producer.
I think she was full of b.s.

Ice cream now 1.75 of 1.5 liters instead a half gallon. "Due to customer preference." B.S! Even IF we wanted a smaller size, we would want a smaller price too. Now I hardly ever buy ice cream.

It's greed. All I can come up with, if it was simply to cover the rising prices then raise the price... wait they did but also reduced the product.

Greed MIGHT have something to do wit it, but it goes far beyond just greed.
Ever wage and price increase has a ripple affect.

People complain about wages, and get an increase. After so many wafe increases, profits for the company are diminished, so the price of their product or service goes up.

Look at the increase in the cost of vehicles since the 1970's.
In fact I have an excellent example:
In 1976 I purchased a new Dodge B200 Tradesman Van.
That van was $5200.00
I also prices a B200 Sportsman and it was $6600.00 in 1976.

In 1986 I purchased a B150 Sportsman it's a 1/2 ton vehicle with a 109"WB. Many of the same options,It was $16,740.00.

More than three times the price of the 3/4 and 18" shorter, tradesman with a lessor drive train. And $10,000 more that a similarly equipped, but longer and heavier duty Sportsman just 10 years earlier.

Why? A number of things, including wage increases, insurance increases, benefits increases, tax increases, new taxes, refitting costs, the cost of steel, the cost of rubber, foam rubber, fabrics, leather, paint, glass, transportation, handling equipment, and so on and so one.

There are two ways for the company to keep up. Raise prices, or offer less.

I took a dump today and they sure as heck ain't getting no smaller.
