I haven't had to deal with an automatic and quite some time. I bought the ARP torque converter bolts that were supposed to I guess fit my torque converter to flexplate but they're the wrong size... Actually they looked exactly like the six bolts for the flex plate to the crank..
ARP240+7302 is what I got but again they're too big...
Lord knows I called the transmission warehouse where I got the rebuild kit the transgone shift kit and the heavy duty torque converter and they had no idea...
Zero help...
Of course I went ahead and installed the engine and transmission today so now I need to get the correct bolts...
Any help or knowledge would sure be a great help thank you...

You obviously got the wrong bolts. If it were me I would find a bolt that screws in and then order those sized converter bolts.

Most of the stock converters use a tiny 5/16 Bolts
I believe ONLY the Hemi uses the 7/16 Bolts
Nearly all aftermarket converters use the big 7/16
There are several different Flex Plates for different size
Converters 10 3/4 or 11 3/4.
Do you have a Stock or Aftermarket Converter?
The converter bolt are a special = Small Head fastener.
I doubt that you will find any Hardware store bolt that
will NOT HIT the Block!
Any Pick a Part or many Wrecking yards may have many small
converter bolts = They are very very common
We I get done racing and am home = pay for the envelope and I will
try to find some bolts and give them to you for free but that is as cheap
as I will go!

Is there enough on the lugs to drill and tap to 7/16? It's a truck, it oughtta have big bolts.

I'm good, I went out to the garage and found another torque converter I have in the backyard and started doing some digging with my threads and taps. It's a 5/16 24... I'm pretty sure ARP is completely out, at least Summit racing is..
I think I can just Amazon some Mr gaskets for 10 bucks or something, they'll be here Tuesday no big deal..

Just go to the hardware store and get 4 5/16 - 24 grade 8 bolts. Over and done.

So you're sure those are the ones you need? Sure?

Want me to order them and come over and install them too? Boss Hog 10018 Boss Hog Torque Converter Bolts | Summit Racing

Only if you're confident that you would be able to torque them properly..You do have a torque wrench that you can bring, don't you??

Torque wrench? There have been a million of those bolts tightened down with a box end wrench.

Good Lord no I already installed everything so trying to drill stuff out now would be an outrageously massive undertaking..
Now you know why I take the time to bench fit these parts before installation.
Does the flex plate bolt hole pattern match the torque converter?

Agreed, no torque wrench needed.
Tight as you can get them with a box end wrench and plenty of orange lock tight.

I matched the torque converter plate on the torque converter before I installed it and spray painted one whole area on the plate and the torque converter so I could line them up...
