Transmission oil

-
I am happy with what I got guys.

Do you really think Red Line oil makes a gear lube for manual transmissions that won't work?

That is absurd.

Did you bother to pick up the phone and call them and let them tell you why you can and should use a synthetic gear oil?

That would have been a better use of your time than posting your question here, where some of these guys are stuck in the 1970's and can't get out.

Use what you want, but there is better out there.

Lol, settle down there big shoots.... My fault for saying you "cannot" use synthetic, you should just use GL4 because its proven. Better oil how? Explain, you still have not. I obviously touched a nerve and you want to be right so bad its killing you, but still no math, backup, evidence. Why would one use a 'better' oil if a GL4 run brass synchro'd 4 speed runs great seemingly forever? That is the point I am trying to make that keeps bypassing your superior wisdom.

I did not post any questions here, I was replying to the original poster on here. That seemed to have escaped your superior intellect as well?

Yup. Proven. Got it. You’re the smartest. You’re the best.

I’ve already explained that you are so ******* smart I can’t explain jack **** to you.

Move on asshole.

Actually you have not explained anything to anyone. I am citing Brewer, the builder of the OP's trans, and any and all 4 speed builder like ever.... You are citing who? What evidence? I have never claimed to have your wisdom or intellect, I mean that isn't possible to have TWO people that smart is it? I am claiming to follow decades of vetted experience, including my own with my A833. Still waiting for your evidence/explanation on why synthetic is BETTER in a brass synchro'd 4 speed than mineral GL4 kind sir

What you don’t get is I don’t answer to you.

You think I give a **** about you or what you think.

I do not.

You owe the original poster an answer tho ;) you must give just a little bit of a **** or you would have let this go an hour ago…

No, I just detest pricks like you. I don’t owe the OP an explanation either.

I’ll end this thread by saying if you are so ******* stupid you can’t find a synthetic gear oil that works it’s because you don’t want to.

In 1979 I started using synthetic gear oil in brass synchro transmissions. Still do.

I even use a GL-6 gear oil. But you can’t do that because that’s what you’ve been told.

You’d be wrong.

That’s all I’ll say. Now **** off.

So pay a premium for oil that all builders would say should not be used in an old school 4 speed? Your signature is bang on, very wise.. I think you are still mixing up can’t and shouldn’t… I can quote a thesaurus for ya.. ok you hang up, no you, no you… talk soon

Note that Jamie Passon also recommends only GL4 90W or 140W gear oil..
For later manual transmssions besides our A-833s, maybe the synthetics may work just fine.
But I trust Brewer and Passon, they are Mopar guys for our A-833s...

Just my $0.02...

Don't forget about the tranny fluid, it's getting cold up here......
