Rather than start another TrickFlow Head post I’ll just throw this on here. I had my second chance to lay my hands on a set of TrickFlow heads today at my buddies house. This time with one intake and one exhaust valve out. These heads are beautiful and I could stop right there but I won’t. His had pac hydraulic roller cam springs and titanium retainers. The valve job was beautiful, the cnc work was beautiful, the throat measured 89.something percent, the chamber work was beautiful, the spark plug relief work was beautiful, a beautiful wing in the rear of the intake bowl (must have found something wet flowing them). When time permits we are going to throw one on my flowbench and do lots of testing.

Those look just like the heads I have! The machining definitely is “Eye candy”

Being a racer and head porter I did see some things I would do. I didn’t measure the pinch or port entrance but that looked small to me. And it wouldn’t be as easy to address as an Edelbrock Head because the pushrod hole is oblonged shaped making impossible to just tube and port over to it. Also I now they aimed this head towards street, street strip guys which was smart but it’s begging for a 2.05 valve. But coming so nicely machined it would kill me to do it for the little gains. I’m curious on some pinch and shortside air speeds

Maybe someday they'll make a more race orientated head like they do for the big block guys

I said this from the beginning and after talking to a couple guys feel even more confident about it. Probably to late for me to be interested in it as I’m pushing 65 but with fewer head porters every year it will be needed. Did they ever release the intake manifold yet. At the World Of Wheels car show in January (Pittsburgh) they said it was close to being ready.

Only 65? That's the new 40 ya know! I have not heard of the intake being out yet but I do plan on running one when they are available

I have two Indy intakes, a Victor340, and a Super Victor but I would have probably bought one too but not right now. They sponsor a race during the Halloween Classic in October at Norwalk but they shutdown for the year. TrickFlow gives free entry into that race if you run one of their intakes or set of heads.

Looks like you have plenty to choose from! These track shut downs are going to hurt a lot more than just the track, especially the bigger tracks where people travel and stay for the weekend. I'm running an Edelbrock air gap right now. I know it's not the best for my 90% strip car but it's what I have until the Trick Flow intake comes out. We have a big no-prep race on Saturday in Union Grove, Wisconsin at great lakes dragaway, I'll be interested to see if any big names show up.

I know this Coronavirus crap affected a lot of businesses. Man I hope we don’t have part 2.

I'm waiting on my camshaft because they can't get any cores due the foundry being closed for close to 2 months. I can't imagine that helping Trick Flow if they are in the same situation.

Way off topic but I’m 16 weeks waiting for my income tax refund because Harrisburg is still shut down. I pay a lot in because I like a nice refund for racing and property taxes.

Bullet is grind Mopar cams this week. Mine is one of them:canada: who did you choose for a grinder

Well made it to the track with my trickflow heads.
85 degrees, 7,495ft DA
First run 11.75 @115 shifting at 5800/6000 soft launch 28total timing
2nd run 11.700@116.2 shift at 6500 30total timing
3rd run 11.64@117.78 shift at 7000(just touching limiter) 32total.
Although the thin air kills me, see if we can get any better.

EDIT- last run of the day.
11.57@117.78 7,100ftDA
Shift at 7000 no limiter 34* total

I think it will be good for 120+ at sea level.
