Trick Flow small block heads

Sounds like sales are going very good. I think I'll wait to see what the consensus is after you guys have run them. The other problem I see at this time is I was planning on putting them on a 360 Magnum and there not setup for them yet. Hopefully down the road that changes. Also I don't race so at this point don't need all out power. A few years ago I had a 70 Dart 340 and I had a real good supply of parts, including Mopar Performance heads and everything else to keep a 340 Happy. Sold the car and got rid of all small block parts. I bought a 74 Duster and now looking to build up a collection of parts for my 360 magnum that I will eventually install.
 
I always wanted to take a $200 junkyard Magnum and put a $400 nitrous kit on it. I wonder how many $200 junkyard Magnums I go through before I could have bought one head...

To clarify, if anyone has a Magnum block that IS drilled for LA head oiling AND runs a camshaft with LA oiling holes, these heads will bolt on just like it's an LA block, and no special rocker arms are required. It will oil through the rocker shafts like any LA engine would.
If your Magnum block is not drilled for LA oiling, you can run oil-through-pushrod rocker arms like Trick Flow is suggesting, or figure out external oiling like others have done already with LA heads on Magnum blocks.
 
For the Magnums it might pay for them to supply kitted version setup to feed the rocker shafts externally from the pressure transducer port to the back of the head like some have already done with la heads on Magnums. Mod the heads and provide a hose kit for a bit more money.

Never seen a set of heads that are as beautiful as these.....

I’m curious why an Edelbrock head stud kit won’t work. Looks like the lower row at least will need 12 point nuts. Could be the picture but it looks kinda tight.

I will open the box on the head studs tomorrow to see what is different....

after rotating the top view around...it looks like take two longer studs just like an eddy head...will look tomorrow at them...was in hurry to get garage locked up and heading home.

I have mine bolted on.
They do need 12 point bolt heads or nuts for studs. It's tight!!
The spark plug openings are tight as well. I will have to turn down my Snap-on spark plug socket. I did find an old Craftsmen that barely worked. The bottom head studs from an Edlebrock kit work but the tops need to be longer. I did not measure. Heads are on the car now and waiting for push rods to show up. Ended up with 8.150 long. Hope to have the car at the track this weekend for some runs. Also regular ARP SB Mopar intake bolts do not work. The bolt bottoms out. Ended up with a 1.250" bolt. Also the Hughes rocker shaft studs are 1/4" too long as well.

Took them out of the box...took the pictures...back in the box....

Maybe one of them will find it’s way to the shop where you had your cnc Speedmaster Head flow tested....... so we can see an apples to apples flow comparison.
 
Has anyone pre-ordered one of the intake manifolds to go with the heads they pre-ordered? Just wondering about that. I am saving up for heads so I am in no hurry.

I asked Howard from trick flow when I purchased my heads about the intake. He said late spring to summer. He started a call list for the intake also.
 
If it wasnt for this label on the box i would have had the box opened sooner but i want to make sure I did not get cancer from it....

the 10 small blocks are the same length...their are two longer studs then the eddy heads ...and the 3 other long stubs appear to longer also...i have pictures with the studs but due to time contraints I did not measure the eddy arp studs..

Thanks for that. I missed it, but who makes the stud kit now for the Trick Flow heads?
 
Talked to Trick Flow today to get recommendation for my application. My plan is to run a hydraulic roller in a street engine with about .550 lift. he said the the TFS-61417802-C00 part number is the one meant for the hydraulic roller, and that the part number TFS-61417801-C00 is for flat tappets. Also, he mentioned that the the latter head was being used with success on some hydraulic rollers depending in required spring pressure from the cam manufacture.
 
When are we gonna see some of those time slip porns?
 
I was supposed to take my wagon to the track Sunday but we got rained out. Not sure when the next chance I get will be.

Flow bench data can be screwed with the same as dyno data.
I would either like to see engine masters do a back to back or some back to back strip numbers before i get too excited.
The numbers ive seen without pushrod re location seem a bit too good to be true.
I hope im wrong.

You are forgetting that TrickFlow didn't set out with I'm going to copy an Edelbrock head and just cast a head. The exhaust port is a way nicer looking port than any Edelbrock, ProMaxx, Speedmaster, ProComp, or any other copied import. One look at TrickFlow heads close-up will tell you this company cares about what they send out the door. (unlike Edelbrock CRAP) TrickFlow could have flow tested their head on a 4.100 bore adapter but they didn't. They instead tested on a 4.000 bore test fixture. I don't personally know Brian at IMM engines in California but he tested on a 4.030 fixture and got slightly higher numbers than TrickFlow did. We are very lucky to have TrickFlow making Mopar products and I for one can't wait to see their next Mopar project.
