I vote exit to atmosphere, there has been proven hp increase when does this way. Alot of people reroute it back due to noise it makes, I loved and miss the sound of my srt4 with a 60 trim turbo and my wg dumped under the car, sounds awesome to me

I'm leaning hard that way.

I'd vent to the downpipe. I don't know how you'd gain a noticeable amount of power by exiting to atmosphere. It may be easier or smoother for the gate to open since there isn't as much pressure in the atmosphere. But then you must think about O2 sensor. I'd want all my exhaust passing over the sensor, not most. They do have a unique sound vented open.

The a/f wont be effected by dumping the wastegate to the atmoshpere, unless some how oxygen goes back up the wastegate. The O2 only needs a small sample of exhaust to get its reading. If the wastegate dumped all of the exhaust out of it when open it would be a different story.

After some searching some say as little as 30hp and some maybe more twin turbo lose 80hp, but alot of people say it depends on the dp and the flow. On my srt my afr's were spot on with my wg dumped to atmosphere. If it gets too loud then you can either make a muffler or buy a resonator the same size

I could only see that much gain if you're using boost control and can squeeze out a little more boost at lower rpm for a launch.

Alright got the trans pulled today, I bought a billet l/r valve for it to replace the old one. The billet valve is way to big to fit so I had to use the old one. I installed the transgo reprogram kit and putting in a new torque converter got a good deal on it from summit. Its a 2000 b&m stall, picked it up for $60 on discount. I know its not going to be a big enough stall but for that price I had to buy it. Put a coat of rubber under coat on it dont know if it will last but I had it so it went on.

Don't sweat the lower stall on the converter. You're going to put down a lot of torque, and the converter will stall a little higher than if you were making say, only 300hp

Well as you can see from the pic of the tranny, its not a 727 its a 904. The guy I bought the car from said it was a 727 I never looked at it until recently. I tried installing the new torque converter and needless to say it didnt fit. Got to google searching and found out that its a 904. And on top of that my 6 month old puppy was down there with me and I think she stole my throttle lever to the tranny and hid it somewhere out side. Time to bring out the metal detector.

Sounds good, can't wait to see the update on the gains
Yeah me either unfortunately in ohio the winters are unpredictable so it wont be till springish till I see how she runs. Not sure why people always refer to cars as shes.

Not sure either, just always do. How do you like the quality of those turbos? Once I get mine up might look to upgrade the turbos later from the gt45s to twin 77mm

Seem like good turbos, but we will see once I get some miles behind it.

Ok its been a long time since I posted last, but life gets in the way. I've still been working on the scamp. Put in a cheetah reverse pattern valve body, and b&m ratchet shifter so no more on the column. Got the car aligned and took it out. Good news the turbo system works great only have it around 4ish psi right now just getting the kinks and bugs worked out before I turn it up more. Problem is I have a sizable oil leak looks like its coming from the top back of the engine. Figured it was intake gasket so I changed it out. Well it wasn't most of the oil appears to be around the distributor area, so I pulled it out to make sure the oring was still there and it was. Any ideas what to look for. Oh I also checked the oil sending unit there isnt much oil in that area so it doesnt appear to be the culprit. FYI the car pulls hard just on 4 psi cant wait to get it up to 8 and see what it does.

Glad to hear you got it out and was able to enjoy it a bit. Bummer about the oil leak, valve cover gaskets all dry too?

yeah they are dry, using moroso gaskets. It really appears to be coming from the base of the distributor.

Well if the o ring is good, think making a gasket for the base to block would help? Cant remember if they have one or not lol its been a while

worth a shot, I'm going to take the intake off once more just to double check. Its weird it just started leaking out of no where.

Heres some part throttle pulls was checking boost levels and a/f.
