very mild 360 build.

I never heard this before?
I’ve heard of this but find it not being very helpful at all. Like Joe said…. Also if the engine is already together…..

I like to use a 90* angle bent pick to pick up the back of the cam to help slide it in.

abodyjoe, are you going to post a video of it running, I sure hope so. I think that would be cool. Happy Cruising.

yes when its actually running. dave has a run stand so hopefully we can break the cam in on that. then it will probably be some time before it goes in the car..

^^^ Looks awfully familiar, about .100 in the hole at a guess. Should run on pump gas just fine.

Looks good!! What color are you going to paint it?

getting there. I've been working the last two days and dave continued to plug away at the engine. called oregon and he says another couple weeks for the cam. i decided to put the MP cam that dave had in it. he says it will run great in it. installed at 106. he knows his **** so i trust him. gonna run it on a stand and if i don't like it he says we just pull it out and change it when the oregon cam comes. gotts yake the water pump, fuel pump, valve covers, oil and filter over tomorrow. gonna throw a torker 340 on it to break in since that what i have laying around.

plugging along. getting ready to pull the 440 off the run stand and put the 360 on.

had 60psi of oil pressure turning the pump by hand. no drill involved.

What kind of water pump are you using? I've never seen one like that before. Did you put break in lube on the cam before you put on the intake manifold? It looks good I bet it will run great

I like flowkooler pumps run one on mine works really good. They are supposed to reduce cavitation etc.

You running 1.88 valve heads?

well its running..cam broke in. the exhaust pipes don't fit well so they leak and the rear of the one manifold needs a plug but they are only run stand parts. good oil pressure and vac over 20in. i'll go over on wed. and pull the valve covers and see if all looks good and maybe run it again.

Sounds happy. You should do a leak down or compression test while its easy just to have a baseline to compare against later on if you ever suspect a problem.

I might be preaching to the choir, but a recent install of a flow kooler on a Pontiac 400 it was advised to me to run a pressure balancing thermostat.

Mr Gasket.

$0.02

Love the thread.

Sounds good. I love it when a plan comes through.
