I like to use a 90* angle bent pick to pick up the back of the cam to help slide it in.

yes, smog heads.I like flowkooler pumps run one on mine works really good. They are supposed to reduce cavitation etc.
You running 1.88 valve heads?
pressure balancing thermostat.
well its running..cam broke in. the exhaust pipes don't fit well so they leak and the rear of the one manifold needs a plug but they are only run stand parts. good oil pressure and vac over 20in. i'll go over on wed. and pull the valve covers and see if all looks good and maybe run it again.
