I don't know how you feel about Fords, but the Mustang GT looks nice and has rear seating........errr.......a luggage area.

Growing up around Archer body shop in sw Houston as a kid. ive seen all kinds of vipers and heard some really crazy stories of how people wrecked them.. many houston professional athletes having more money than brains try and show off to a g/f and end up smashing the car up. GO WITH A VIPER if you have balls... if you do and want to buy it.. tell ur wife to grow some lol.FYI all vipers have they're own color. and boy are they expensive too

If you want to get her a cool newer car, I say skip both the viper and the vette and get her a prowler. They are rarely seen on the road and much cooler then the first two choices.

now this guy is talking my langauge

11,702 built from 97~02

the candy red is the lowest number vehicle (301) with the exception of the Woodward (153) and Black Tie edition (167)

they don't get much respect due to the V6, but they are quick, get 20~28 mpg don't ask me the best I have gotten pulling my trailer is 24mpg

At the time they were built they made the top 50 fastest car. Most stock cars will run high 14's ~ low 15 sec 1/4 mile

The quickest modified car is owned by Mike Krehel and it is in the mid 11's

Many have been running in the 13's

Not too bad for a V 6

Marty Usher had one that he drove on the power tour a few years back with a 4.3 stroker motor, was his daily driver and his 19 year old daughter drove it at Indy to run high 13's after driving all morning to get here in high heat and humidity at Raceway Park.

There have been many of these wrecked even rolled over, I don't know how they do that either.

I do have to be very careful when the road is damp, to comes around quickly and 1st to 2nd can be a hand full, I've look at the side of the car in the next lane thru the windshield

if anyone wants to find out more about Prowlers or the stories behind it check out www.Prowleronline.com

Prowlers are pretty cool. Some can be found for under $30k. Nice ones will cost more (from what I've seen) Once you get into the mid-low $30K range you are also talking 1st gen Viper (or high mileage) money.

As far as the Mustang GT thing goes.......

vipers are notorious for the lack of brakes. so if you are planning on driving on road courses be careful. other than that there isn't really wrong with them.

Not only that but the car is very unstable under braking at the track.
My mom used to have one when it was the car to have...
I am not a pro but I do have good experience at the track and if you ask me the car just had to much torque and felt light on the tyres and nose heavy.
We took it to the track at Cressen several times and it was all over the place.
When she sold it I wanted her to buy a Lotus Exige where I could really have fun at the track but she did not... She bought a Chevrolet SSR. She kept it until the new wore off of it and now has a Vette. I think the Vette has been her favorite of them all. Note: She lost alot of money on the Viper.

My brother has two Vipers that he purchased new - first year roadster and first year coupe. They have more power than the average driver knows what to do with. That being said, his first car was a 1970 440 Six Pak 'Cuda (he does wish he still had it) and that car too was more than the average driver could handle.

Get the Viper. The more you drive it, the more familiar you will become with its handling characteristics. The best advice is, as with any vehicle, don't do anything stupid.:tard:

Neither one has the class or sweet chromed out retro styling of those two cherry's your parting with and they're both made out of plastic and fiberglass. Do you really want to look like a rolling Viagra commercial?

I agree, Nothing new can take on an old car, 70's on back. As far as looks go. IMOA.

But if you have made up your mind I would say.

Go with the Viper

Vetts are a dime a dozen:bootysha:
