Well, I drug home another one

Updates!?
Not a lot to update at this point but I’ll let you know where I’m at currently. I have a complete mock up of the engine, trans, and McLeod dual disk clutch and all measurements have been taken. Surprisingly the bell housing bolted on with the factory dowels and measured within spec. That was great news. Unfortunately American Powertrain has sent me the wrong flywheel bolts twice now and I’m waiting for the next shipment (Wednesday), and hopefully this one is correct. I had her open the damn package and measure the bolts before sending them. The front of the car is stripped down (318 gone) and waiting for engine install so I can finish cold side piping (I’ll probably be cutting some very nice virgin sheetmetal) and installing the massive air to air intercooler. I need to yank the old 904 and cut the floor boards, yank the 7-1/4 rear and put the 8-3/4 in it, move the springs in, notch the sliders up into the rear frame section, and install subframe connectors. Kevin at CSU finished my new e85 carb so I threw that on and got a base tune up in it. Sounds like a lot more work when I write it all out.

Ahhh yes. I know all about cutting the virgin sheet metal for the intercooler piping. It was terrifying haha, but at least I kept the inner fenders and just did a couple holes for the pipes and air filter tubing. Man that setup sure looks nice! Can't wait to see it sitting in the car!

Me too. I’ve been in the gathering pars and mock up stage for far too long now. It’s time to start putting crap in the car.

For anyone still following along, I finally got to make some progress and final assembly is complete. Shout out to American Powertrain for fixing their mishaps with incorrect hardware and forgetting a bearing retainer spacer. Next time you see it, it will be in the car. Hopefully soon

Hell yeah. Looks baddass. Can't wait to see it in the car

Looking good. What kind of power is this going to make Mike?
Don’t really have a Hp goal, the engine NA should make ~480-500 and I have enough turbo to make 1400 or so. So I’ll keep turning up the boost until I’m happy or something breaks. It will be on e85 so I won’t be limited by octane so I can add boost to get where I want. I think this combo will have enough to go 8.50 at 2900lbs at some point.

Is it in the car yet? You had it all together like a day ago....pitter patter. Lol

“Sips coffee angrily and thinks of clever response”.

I got nothin.
I figured on a rebuttal as I am taking the day off. Cold and raining. Mine needs to be ready for the Salt and winter is coming. No garage heat = less progress.

Nice, Are you going to run factory K member also?

I am in the same boat. Lucky for you, weather is nice year round there, yes?
Yea it’s in the 70s all this week. Little windy but that’s it. We will get some cold/rainy winter weather where you can’t work outside but it doesn’t last long. Makes dealing with all the horrible parts of California easier.

Lucky. We get cold and bitter. Well below 0⁰, wind and snow. The spring and fall are nice. The hot, humid, and mosquitoes.

You should move to Michigan. lol
If talking to me, WI is bad enough. I grew up within an hour of Lake Superior. I like the UP but no thanks to lower MI.
