Let me try this again....... thats allot of water and I hope the water subsides soon

Southern Alberta is drowning.
100,000 people in Calgary on mandatory evacuation including me.
There were some houses floating down in pieces.
I am hiding out at home and plan on staying up all night to keep
an eye out, I have a dog and a cat to take care of.
Got an escape plan as I live on the side of a hill and will run up
there if the water gets here.
The hamlet of Bragg Creek totally under water also
Canmore
Okotoks
Highriver (they must change that to Ultrahighriver)
Turner Valley.

I have lived in Calgary all my live (49 years) and never never seen it
like this.

Me a Night owl and not going to work in the morning.

I hope the hill you live on is not in any danger of sliding. Not to add to your worry, but we worry about you. Take care, my friend, and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Prayers sent for you and others affected by this mess.

i heard it was pretty bad. We have friends in Calgary and one of my daughters lives in Edmonton. Good luck Monook,I hope this ends soon.

I have been to Calgary many times and have a very good friend there with the Baptist seminary there in Cochran she said it was real bad and more rain on the way added to the snow melt and you guys are getting hammered will keep you in our prayers.

gdrill How is Lethbridge doing?

I am still sitting at home hiding out. Thanks Everyone for the Prayers.
This is caused by saturated ground, rainfall with the snow melt in the mountains.
MY Barracuda is a fish right?
Stuff is not important to me, but Krissy the dog and Louie the cat are with me
and doing fine, that what counts.

Thanks Everyone!
Darryl

It actually isn't too bad down here. The river is supposed to crest around noon last I heard. The river valleys were evacuated yesterday but they let some people return to their homes for the night. They are on high alert still. The city is expecting the crest to be a lot milder than originally planned, nowhere near 1995's flood. And the clouds breaking up so it appears we won't be hurt too bad after all.
Take care up there monook, what the pictures and videos are showing is absolutely unbelievable.

O my goodness!!!!! We have our floods here aswell but that looks bad!
Stay safe and I am going to call our tv news room and ask why they have not
made this a priority to let us know about it... Prayers sent to all effected ..

I can not believe it!
There a 100 year old park with a miniature train (Bowness Park) that
is pretty much wiped out. The bridges are closed because of risk of
collapse. The park is where I walk my dog daily. Big 120 year old trees
are getting ripped out.

All I can say is Wow! Mother nature at work here.

I am fine, still at home.

Darryl

Good thing you haven't lost electric and internet services. Keep safe.

A lot of areas are without power, still have power but have candles ready
for tonight.
Just seen on the news that some guy drowned in Highriver canoeing.
That's whacked.

Now Medicine Hat is evacuating people from the valleys. They are going to get all the flood from Calgary, Lethbridge and elsewhere. They figure it will be worse there than it was in 1995! 10,000 told to evacuate so far.

Been watching the news ,wow, it looks pretty bad. Downtown Calgary deserted and under mandatory evac. The pictures are real eye openers. Hang in there monook and all our Albertan members.

Just heard on the so called news that downtown Cranbrook is under evac orders. WOW

Dorian's in The Hat....have we heard from him? As a former 'Hat dweller, with relatives in Leth and Calgary, I'm watching with great interest.
