What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Trying to figure out how to install the aftermarket gas pedal I got a long time ago. Not sure how it's going to work. With the vertical bolts instead of the horizontal ones on the original that I don't have, there isn't enough flat surface area to drill for new holes for it to sit right.

I know it's hard to see, but the area where it should bolt down isn't flat but contoured.

Pulled the six-pack off the Fury and bolted an old TM5 on. Setting the car up with a 4 barrel cuz I'm going to sell her. But I'M keeping the 6pack. I'm going to let Jake borrow it until if I build another small block one day. It should do well on the 408 in his 65 B'cuda.

And this is how clean my guts are after 13 years.

Reinstalled the kick panel and scuff plate on the 500, pardon the seat crumbs!

Then I inspected the wiring for the radio in my '98 2500 Ram, it kept losing power, a loose plug may be the culprit as it's working again.

Got an Email back from Dakota Digital today with a rendering of what my gauge cluster will look like. I had posted earlier in this thread and a few of you asked me to post up when I get more info so here you go. I went with the stock look black face with white lighting and red needles. but I wanted a tach

It will look just like this except both gauges will be round and inset to the cluster.

So after 2 years of test & tune and abut 2600 miles of small trips today I embark on an 800 mile round trip in the Barracuda. 400 miles out today and 400 miles home in a few days after visiting friends on the Olympic peninsula. I have done everything humanly possible to make the car reliable but I would by lying if I said I did not feel a bit of trepidation about embarking on this adventure. (I'm taking a tow strap)
Cheers to all---------------------Rat has left the building--------------

After work I'm going to check all the fluids and the air pressure in the tires....then clean it inside and out...
Tomorrow morning I'll take her for a nice long drive!

A working wideband will change your life.

Or make you wonder why you keept on running carbs for all these years considering how far of carbs tend to be in alot of situations, unless we are talking about purely stock and well taken care of combinations those tend to be a whole lot less crappy.

Went for my Friday morning drive. ....
I'll add a shout out to @crackedback for his headlight relay kit!
I seldom need my headlights, but boy are they nice a bright and white compared to how they used to be!

Update: So I have the relay setup and harness all run and connected to the new GE Nighthawk headlights.
Checked it out and works great. Still have to actually mount the relays, and get the wires all tied down nice and neat.

Before I took the old lights out or disconnected anything, I checked the voltage at the headlight with the car running at idle. It was getting between 10.5 - 11.0 volts at the headlight.
Now with the relay setup I'm getting around 14.5 volts at the headlight.

Yippiee! Cant wait to get it all buttoned up and take it out for a night time cruise so I can really see the difference.

Just a nice drive to a local show and return home. Hot, but good weather and nice to spend some time on the asphalt! Thank goodness for those air boxes and full side window drops.

Changed the oil and air filter in the Lexus to find that all 4 tires are almost bald inboard. To top off the job, I'm draining the oil pan into a container after Im all done and find the washer for the drain plug...Doh! :BangHead:

the voltage to the headlights compared to light output is almost exponential, 4 more volts is like 3x the lumens.

Back from my road trip, nearly across the whole state of Washington and back. Car ran perfectly but I can make it better. Having just rebuilt the front suspension adding a stock sway bar and replacing all soft parts with energy suspension components I wish I had known about the upper C/A offset bushings. Next up for the BC will be offset UCA bushings, lower CA reinforcement plates and new torsion bars. Not a lot to complain about here, the car drew a crowd everywhere I went but it is definitely road worthy. A couple shots on the water at Port Angeles.
