What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
still whacking on the sheet metal intake for the 273. Got the rails done today, mocked up the mounts, put the sensors on the TB and stuck it on......making progress, then ran out of fasteners. So I cleaned the block of garage dirt, pulled the pan and found a fender washer and a small bolt in the pan! Must have fallen in when the valley was uncovered. Shot some red on the back of the block where I missed on the first go round.

Do you have a thread on that? That is cool af!! Are you doing all the welding and fabing yourself?

As soon as I get home from work in a couple hours I'm gonna try and get something to the car worked on not sure what yet. I may go ahead and start removing the crank and pistons so I can start cleaning the block on my 318. Or may just do some sanding and cleaning of little parts. I have my drum brake stuff ordered so I may start getting that started. We shall see what kinda mood I'm in.lol

Ordered some lower control arm bushings for my '72 dart. Passenger side started squeaking on the way home. At least it didn't come apart on me!

Installed (80%) the hydro boost braking system. Looking forward to stopping on a fine line. It's tough on the linkage but connecting directly to the pedal arm did the trick.

I brought in my oil pump for my small block to a local machine shop, so he could make a quick cut/ machine a flat spot to clear the ARP main cap bolt. waiting to see how it turns out.

Brought him my old one so he could understand what the heck I was talkin about.

Trimmed the carpet and put the sill plates and extensions on. Then attempted to install the windshield... almost got it in this afternoon, but tore the gasket with about 12" left to go

Damn near broke the glass too, but just a little chip in one corner where it's not visible. Another new gasket is $64, got it ordered now.

I think I'll find a pro to do the install as a side job. This is a case of theory being much easier than practice... and if I bust the glass it'll cost me $300 for a new one.

planing to go and measure some combustionchambers on some old J heads and then measure deckheights on the block to be able to go forward with the planing for the enginebuild, since im stuck trying to find a good bodyshop i need to get something done atleast.

My Barracuda is winterized and stored for the winter. Fuel stabilizer added and battery shutoff switch in off. Today my next project comes home for winter work. I will get it here and put up a couple photos when appropriate. It is not a Mopar or an A body but it will be cool!

Made a cold air intake for my 2 barrel 318. Used a kit off of Amazon for a 1995 Integra. I cut the second piece to make it line up. Filter is behind the bumper and grill. Carburetor handles the heat of Arizona a lot better.

Finally pulled the 9" drum brakes off the 67 Barracuda and started the Disc Brake conversion. Making progress...

Not today but earlier this week I drug the rear into work and stripped it down. Got the case primed and painted. Rear brake kit should arrive sometime this week and I will need to scrape up some more cash to get the new axels ordered. Just a little bit at a time

Have done an endless amount of measuring and some calculations on pistons and deckheights. My head hurts and im far from done and this is measauring pistons that are junk.

Unfortunately, the salt trucks were out on Friday so the Dart GT went into hibernation today. On the plus side, I've had more car related events this past summer than any other summer in the 15 years I've owned the Dart GT. To quote my buddy, Mike, "smiles per mile"!!

Nothing , it`s snowing ! Wish it was 95 !

My epoxy came from SPI on Saturday. Looking forward to getting the engine bay prepped and ready to spray.

I added a little gadget to my console today. Installed a 2-port USB charger, which also does double duty as a volt meter. Which is cool since I no longer have an ammeter. Has a little flip up cover to keep dust out, but has a window in the cover so you can always see the voltage display.
Bought this off Amazon for less than $20

Unlike our children, X-mas for us can arrive in parcels thought-out the Mopar year. Got mine yesterday from C.I., headliner, sail panels, glue and a page or two on install. I am impressed with the headliner insulation, jute backing NOT fiberglass, two thumbs up! The headliner a course is tri-folded and carefully stuff in a box with a predetermined amount of cancer causing warning labels for your reading enjoyment. Today I will be installing the insulation, the next day or two, I will use the steamer to decrease the nice fold down the center. Both front and rear glasses are out, making the install easier and cleaner.
