What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Got in the Balance Plate today. Setting up to run engines on the engine stand. 318 neutral balance flywheel to run with the 318s, and same flywheel with the balance plate for the external balanced 360s.

130 tooth 318 flywheel.

Got a nice manual trans '69 318 bell housing here to make it all work.

I was researching out 360 weighted flywheels on google and came across an old post from FABO. They were talking about trying to come up with a replacement 360 flywheel and how expensive they are. One person came in and said all you need is a balance plate for a neutral balance flywheel, the gave the RM-531 part number and looked them up online and read the reviews.

Summit has been a good vender so I ordered it from them, couple days I had it. So yeah they are running a good business and shipping things out with covid going on and all. Came through priority mail.

Replacing my heavy *** cast iron master cylinder with an aluminum one. Don't know why I didn't do it sooner. I weighed both cylinders and was amazed at the difference. I also purchased an adjustable pedal rod as my manual brake pedal was too high. Had to trim both the male & female ends about 1/2" each because the rod threaded all the way in was the same 6" as the stock one. Now it's 5 3/8" long all the way in. Gotta find a 9/16-20 fitting to bleed the master cylinder. The scale is off. It reads about 4-4.5lbs. empty. The last pic is the scale empty.

I’m on a major weight reduction quest myself (reduced 180lbs so far) and am looking into doing the same with the m/c. What brand did you use and what’s the overall length of the adapter and cylinder?

ok so I know about the 15# spec and lock tight, but I still get a scalloped oil pan! Mine had been on for a few years before starting to leak. In a moment of weakness I just tacked them up and bent the rails. So, I made these. Am I on crack? They sell ‘em for fords!

Not car, but my wife and I built a plant stand with leftover wood from our deck. I spent so much time on my car the past year and a half, I thought it would be good to join together and build her something. She's still staining and I'm baking wings!

Tested the soft plug I installed, fixed ! I tackled a few other things put the brake line clips on, and wheels let her back down, looking better. I also stuck my new master cylinder in, didn't have time to bleed the brakes.

It's around 87*, so I figured that it's a good idea to take a nap.

I guess I can pull the seats and carpet afterwards...

More pics as progress gets made.

Put in a new cam last fall that was supposed to support power brakes, but when I tested it it developed 6 hg at idle. Today I installed a vacuum canister. It captured 20 hg and the brakes work a lot better.

Good news! The only bad floorboards are the front passenger pan where the heater core leaked for probably twenty years. Ill see about wire wheeling it up next weekend.

You should probably fix that steering coupler while your installing that exhaust system.

Now for a haircut!

I was gonna mention 'Ape-hangers'.....He loves it. Does donuts right before we put it away for the night.

i got a very slow fuel leak (really more of a seepage issue) around the return fitting on the duster
of course the fitting is in the fuel pick up so before i can get at it, i need to take about 5 gallons of gas out

so, i will be driving it

Got her out and gave her a bath. Probably drive it to work this afternoon. 86 degrees out, good time to try out my electric fan install.

Well, my day just went to hell.

After letting the car sit about 1/2 hour after washing it, I see
about a 2' x 2' puddle of antifreeze under the radiator. looks like my Champion radiator is leaking, but not sure from where. I'll have to get the electric fan off and clean everything up, get a pressure tester to put on it and see if I can figure out where its leaking from.
Guess it's possible I dinged one of the tubes when I was mounting up my electric fan setup that I just finished. If that's the case I think I'm screwed. I cant imagine how you would fix a leaky tube in an aluminum radiator.

Pretty freaking bummed out right now.
