What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Put in the Milodon high-flow thermostat. It looks just like the 'stat that was in there (and the old one has a Pentastar logo on it, too). Didn't make any difference :(
So the next move is an aluminum radiator since rodding or recoring the copper/brass one would likely be more expensive. Or I can just live with the slightly-higher-than-I-like temps ;)

Man, every time I see your car I think to myself how much I love that color.
Thank you!
It really has grown on me!

Two things, one minor, other not so much. First, I put a new governor solenoid and transducer in the 48re trans in my 04 Ram 2500. When the governor solenoid is bad, the trans goes into limp mode, i.e., third gear with no overdrive and no lockup. The truck is parked outside, so I had to start at the crack of dawn this morning so I could finish before the Tallahassee August heat became unbearable. Finished by 11 am., took it on a long test drive after lunch, all was OK. Second, I put a spare tire, new tire board and new trunk mat in my 67 Barracuda coupe. I had been running the trunk completely empty, so had to find the long hold-down stud, wing nuts and cupped thingy, which took a while, but I did have them.

I put this thing back together for hopefully the last time! At least for a while. Been struggling with little **** for weeks. Just replaced a brand new bad lifter. I hope that's it!

Playing with the alignment
I guess I never adjust for the added weight when I went from a slantie to a 360, so the inside of the tires is wearing off

Wish I know what I was doing

I doubt you have that much camber (the tires would look "knock-kneed" from the front, leaning way in at the top) from the minimal weight increase. Toe is the biggest determinant of tire wear (yes, it'll change a bit when you add 50-100 lbs to the front but not so much as to wear your tires out).
I'll bet you have too much toe-in. Easily rough-measured with a steel tape and a couple of pieces of angle iron propped up against the tires.

that is exactly how they looked
it also looked like the cam bolts were all the way in

i got to do some research on how to get it perfect, but i was able to get it knocked out the other way, so i know there is enough adjustment there

Drove it!
Gotta drive it early in the morning to beat the heat.....99 here now...
Gonna drive it again tomorrow morning too!
Fun car to drive!

I finally got it back together. I blew a head gasket after 500-1000 miles. Changing them out required removing the steering column and then right torsion bar and motor mount. While I was at it I found a faulty spark plug wire that was burned and shorting out. During re-assembly I dropped the motor on the oil pan and bent the oil pickup cracking it and had to pull the pan and replace that. In case anyone is curious, when replacing the headers you have to Jack the motor to the opposite side. The motor mount was stuck. Stupid me took a long bar and a hammer to “tap” the bolt so that it lined up with the slot. BAM it fell into place denting the oil pan. Stupid as stupid gets. At least I cought it after startup a few seconds that there was no oil pressure on the gauge. Removing the distributor and trying to prime didn’t work so,,,, off with the pan.

While I was fixing my errors, I got a new trick flow intake and oil dipstick. They look good to me. Now I have to cut a hole in the hood to fit the air cleaner. With the torker2 I could make it work but very constricted.

Much to learn about this passion and hobby.

Prepping to repaint my Rallye Wheels and will be putting my brand new Goodyear Polyglas E70-14's on them when ready. In the mean time will be running 14 inch steel wheels painted black with the newer tires previously mounted on those Rallye's. I couldn't resist buying the tires after I was quoted a better price than I got at Carlisle and saved myself $100. In my opinion there is nothing better as far as looks of the Polyglas tires. I'm willing to sacrifice the handling not being good but they came on the car originally. I'll deal and I can always put the radials back on from time to time. Steel wheels painted black with chrome lug nuts is a good look too,

Looks good, I can see Karl Malden driving that around San Francisco, with one of those magnetic lights up on the roof...

And in other news;

Just ordered some new shoes for the Charger. Those Goodyears absolutely SUCK. Zero traction when at the front at the stoplights, at stop signs, at yield signs, wet conditions, getting on the freeway...
