What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
hi guys,
first post (other than introduction).
today I'm hoping to get the motor to run on my 68 barracuda fastback. the 318 has been sitting since 2003 when it was put into the car by the PO. I've got to put some oil into it (it's dry now), spin up the oil pump and maybe squirt some wD-40 into the cylinders and crank it over a few times before I put the spark to it. the wiring is pretty crappy but all I want to do today is get it to run...then i'll get to the other things on the list including replacing the underhood wiring which is in pretty rough shape. anyone have a lead on where to find the underhood wiring harness?

thanks
charlie

Drove to my parents house in the dart. 13 miles away. Replaced the brake light switch in my dads 1972 Amc javelin. He now has brake lights. (Failed on the way back from a car show Monday. Seen fishypete and his sweet truck). On the way home the alternator/water pump belt broke. Had two power steering belts in the trunk. Called a buddy to run over to my garage and see what I had. Luckily I'm a hoarder. The belt that got me home was frayed like a pair of daisy duke cut offs.

Converting front drum brakes on my 71 Demon to discs. Has terrible brakes on it atm. Also Mon replacing the holley double pumper to a vac secondary setup. Atm is suxs heaps of fuel.

Finish installing 68 glass trim clips on my 67 notch. Double check heater install and dynamat install on firewall. Reinstall dash and connect up all heater operation cables and run the wiring where it is headed to. Make a package tray template and mail to a member. Get all the K-Frame assembly parts out, inventoried and prepare to assemble install K-frame with disc brake conversion and new stock sway bar. Maybe squeeze in a nap around 2:00;-)

My dad and I failed at installing the 340 into the Dart. Boomstand did not boom out far enough...Now I need to find a way to make a longer boom..

Setup my Lokar kick down & throttle cables today, made the engine bay a little cleaner.

Putting steering together, detailing exhaust manifolds for coating, painting MC #4 and installing steering column. :coffee2:

Got my spare tire well cut out and welded in the replacement. Got it all ground down and got some epoxy on the trunk and the rear seat area. I'll fill and blend the patch later- trying to get everything in at least one coat of epoxy before it gets cold.

Yesterday, I installed my drive shaft, tightened down some suspension pieces, got one header bolted tight and then installed my new AMD front bumper.

Today I will install my steering column, run my dash wiring where it needs to go, install the in-body wiring harness to the trunk area, run my new rear speaker wires to the back and probably change from the cracked 67 steering wheel the car came with to a nice 68 steering wheel I bought from a member. If I have any time after that, I will install Dynamat on the floor. Busy day planned starting right after my second cup of coffee.
Cheers all-DR:coffee2:
