What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Took the car of to body and paint. Thanks to Yocums Signature Hot Rods for coming thru. Today the engine goes on the stand. I'm off this week so trans may get popped open as well.

Thanks. I think my wife hates me cause I am spending a lot of time in the garage. I'm so happy with how things are going and all the previous problems I am fixing. To bad we just got a foot of snow and spring is a long way away. I just watched a youtube video on how to rebuild my Z Bar. Maybe I'll get to it tomorrow. Right now I am going to grab a beverage and relax and watch Roaklill Garage. Have a good night.
Well today didn't work out very well. Removed z bar. Cleaned it up and installed new seals and bushings. Put it all back together and nothing is lining up and it's binding on my drivers side torsion bar. Does the little metal clip thing go in the end at the transmission side or the inner fender side. The only thing I can think of is I put it in backwards. The pedal was functioning before the rebuild. Help

When in doubt? Flip it around. Or ask someone to post pictures of there setup.

It is bogs down really bad when I press the gas to WOT when driving 35+ mph. I posted for help in the small block sub forum.
Ah well that sucks. At least you got the light fixed! Doesn’t sound like a major problem engine wise at least. Fuel issue or timing? I’ll leave that to the small block forum, but interested in hearing what it turns out to be.

Most guys are saying the accelerator pump on the edelbrock carb or... kickdown linkage.

I think its a carb issue though. Its a 1yr old avs2 carb, but it because the avs2 was supposed to be the best easily adjustable one for a new carb guy (me). Ill probably end up with a double pumper...

I used to have a 950 dual feed pro form on my built 440 challenger before I switched to fuel injection. Ran great but was probably too much carb for it. I have had zero problems with my Holley. I keep trying to replace it, and always end up going back to it.

My car is a dick. Try to fix one problem and create another. Im going to rip the whole ac system that doesn't work off of it, just to be a dick back to it.

Finished my engine oil lines off today (this is a RHD car). Just managed to get -10 90 degree fittings into the block and past the steering rack. Drilled and tapped the remote housing so that I could vertically attach it to the top overhang bit of the chassis rail and used Chrysler type self tapping bolts into the rail itself. Had to fight the hoses every inch of the way but it’s done now!

While I was on my way to a family function i was looking at the pics I took when I took the Z bar out and I have it in correctly. I am thinking everything is out of alignment cause I don't have my trans in yet and the engine and bell housing are not at the correct height. I will jack up the engine tomorrow after disconnecting the z bar from the bell housing and take a much better look at things. Its probably going to be a case of me getting way ahead of myself. I hope anyways.

Oh me, I'm wrapping presents, going shopping and trying to have a good time  I just want to go back out in the garage now please! :(

Got under the car this morning and loosened up the bolts holding the z bar bracket to the bell housing and jacked up the back of the engine. Clutch pedal linkage can now move freely which is good. I tried to get the pedal working but I think because there is no trans holding the throwout bearing from moving its all slopping around and the pedal is not correct. I'm going to take a break and wait for my trans so I can put it in and then do the clutch linkage. I might have to order a longer adjustment rod cause mine looks like it will be close to the end with maybe a 1/2 in of threads left but I'll know better when its back together and the trans is mounted.

Just a test fit now before I remove the heads. I have already messed up the pretty paint job on the manifold, having to grind it for clearance and rebend the brackets to fit. Everything will be nice and pretty when I put it back together.

So I was able to sneak out to the garage for a while why my wife is taking a nap shhh got my grill in restored by yours truly. I'm happy the way it turned out.
