What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Looking forward to seeing that one up and running, really beautiful car.
Thanks. Went picture perfect tonight. But I had a ton of prep beforehand. Actually never open the hood until after we were done. It went in thru the bottom.

Got the inside detailed and a coat of liquid glass on her, ready for the downtown car show tomorrow

I did a Google search after reading your post and saw the same thing. Stealth Clamps is one company.

i asked one of the tech guys and he said they are stainless clamps and took them years to get the coating perfect, i guess stainless is pretty hard to coat . They are supposedly treated with a military grade coating, not sure what it is

I pulled the windshield out of my 67 valiant. Gonna prep and paint it. Need the rough location for the trim/reveal clips screw holes since I bought the newer gasket and wanna switch over.

I rotated my distributor intermediate shaft today to get the clip away from being right at the firewall. Then rewired the cap to match up the firing order and retimed engine and adjusted carb.

When I swapped the 5.9 in my Barracuda, and installed the intermediate shaft, the distributor back clip was right at the firewall. Made popping the cap a real PITA. I just wanted to drive the car so I dealt with it for over a year.

Now the clip is easily reachable and the vacuum advance still has plenty of room.

Got the valve train cleaned up and ready to go back on. Also a before picture for comparison.

Found a spot of rust that broke away when picked at. I decided to cut it out and weld in a 1" peice pre folded and opened to weld the inner, then closed to weld the outside. Ground it off at the edge to look factory/like the rest.

Got a bad case of scope creep. All I had to do this weekend was install the Procar seats. The Dart was originally a bench seat so there are no bucket seat reinforcement patches. One thing led to another:

Installed the new parking lamp lenses I got from PG Classics. They are really well made and 100% better than the spider webbed cracked originals.

So it's all fixed now? :)

Yup! It spent 2 weeks in the body shop getting the patio furniture damage repaired. Once I got it home, I did some testing and determined it was a bad alternator. It took NAPA 3 days to get the replacement in. I swapped it, then put a few miles on it over the weekend. I stopped by the local high school to check out the parking lot art.

Put the gauge cluster together with the N.O.S. "performance indicator" I bought from FABO member Jim Harvard along with the new dash bezel from PG Classics.
