What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

@diymirage

Those lug nuts look like ones for a wheel that has a thick web.

"ET style" comes to mind.

Be careful they don't bottom on the lug before the wheel gets tight.

I need some like that for my Motor Wheel Spyders, but they are slightly more shallow than the ET style and hard to find.

Right you are

I have us Indys on the duster and they are thick enough that the nuts don't push through the bottom

But it's pretty obvious they wouldn't work on steelies

For what I'm doing though, I really like them

Finally some decent weekend weather!

Finally got the hood scoop installed and painted. It’s not perfect but it looks good to me. First local show for me is on Tuesday. It needs a wash before then. ’

Still a work in progress. But I'm making a 408 Six Pack Bell Crank kickdown linkage. You can see start to finish. It started out on a paper plate and got better every phase.

Couple weeks ago I pulled my radiator and took it to an old school radiator shop. The temperature would hit 205 in town. As soon as I started moving, right back to 180.

Picked it up today. Guy said it's flowing great and passed the pressure test. At least now I know the radiator is good. It's a 3 row A/C.

I reinstalled it today along with a high flow thermostat.

I'm headed out of town for work so it will be a few days until I fill it and try it out.

Fresh Polish standard crankshaft.

Can you tell me about your oil pressure sender setup? I think I recall someone mentioning adding the 90* at some point in time, but I can't remember why.
I added a 90° elbow so I could add a AN-2 Oil Pressure line. That's the only reason.

Can not find any issues with the camera. Going to cover it back up and will see what happens. My gaskets of choice arrived today and hope to fire it back up on Saturday! Hope it was just the silly stud I left in there and call myself lucky!

Made a jig to drill a hole in the bearing for pressure fed thrust.

Yesterday I took it to get my subframe connectors installed, but found out I gotta re-route my brake and fuel lines....they're in the way.
Ugh....I'll sort it out....sounds fun! (LOL)

I've always been a little intimidated with bending and flaring brake and fuel lines because I've always had VERY mixed results and degrees of success.
So, I decided that I need GOOD tools and some bench practice.
Since I'm going to fuel injection, I'll need a new tank and new lines anyway. ...and I'm upgrading to 4 wheel disk brakes I'm going to want all new clean brake lines too.
Time to become a brake/fuel line expert!

Replacing the floats in the ol' 850 Demon, and needle assemblies while I'm in there. I noticed the secondary had started sinking when I couldn't get the level down where it belongs, so out they go. That's okay I got good use out of them. I know some prefer brass, but I've had them sink too...and in contrast to the nitrophyl style, the brass one in that Holley was good one minute, and completely sank the next. Erupted fuel at every attempted start-up and left me doing "emergency bypass surgery" in a parking lot and limping home on two barrels. The nitrophyl at least gives some warning provided you regularly monitorthe fuel levels.

Also went down a size on IFRs to help clean up the transition some more.
Whatever I'm doing this morning I need to hurry the hayl up because it's gonna hit 100° well before noon. That's pool time!
