What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

I had the 280° mopar cam 1 cam smaller than the 284 cam. It ran good. Now replaced it with the 292 purple cam advanced 4° @ crank. It runs real nice too! The sound is music to my ears!:steering:
I have the 292/.509 purple cam in my 440 in my Charger. Loved how it ran back then and how it sounded. There may be better cams out there today but back in the day, that was a great go-to hyd cam!

Working on the brakes on the 71 Demon. New master cyl bench bled and ready for install. New brake hoses installed. Car has S/S brake lines so no upgrade needed there. Will install these rebuilt KH 4-piston calipers that I got from a member here a couple years ago. Will keep the old "cause ya never know...." I knew the pic of the rebuilt ones on the kitchen table would make @72Dart6pack feel better!!

Don't be stealing my work zone ideas.

Took off the valve covers and checked on the new speedmaster roller rockers, everything looked great while I also pulled the plugs and checked the burn also looked great so i just did a tune-up for a grudge match coming up this spring.

Looks like the nights are going to stay above freezing now so-----------------------------Off came the car cover, on went the battery kill switch. Checked all fluids and air pressure in the tires and got it good and warm, all gauges just where they were when I parked it. Do all that and one simply must drive it, so I hot lapped it around, topped it up with fresh ethanol free 91 octane fuel and hot lapped it some more. Its officially back to being my DD. Cheers to all---DR

Don't have all the hardware. But hopefully ill have this done to pull the engine/transmission next weekend.

Got some new front tires for the Charger today! I see that I could have gone bigger, but I wanted to play it safe and check clearance first. It looks like I could have quite easily fit 265's and just closely fit 275's. I am looking forward to the weekend when I can go up to Mendocino County and drive 175 over the mountain. Hopefully the engine will cool down enough so I can change the oil this evening.

Hwy 175 from Hopland to Lakeport is about 25 miles over some nice twisty mountain roads. If you're ever in the area on a motorcycle, you will want to drive this route.
:steering::thumbsup:

From Wikipedia;
Route description[edit]

SR 175 connects U.S. Route 101 at Hopland to State Route 29 near Lakeport through the Mayacamas Mountains. From there it joins SR 29 until Kelseyville, where it loops out until meeting SR 29 again at its end at Middletown. The section between Hopland and Lakeport is also known locally as the "Hopland Grade", or "Hopland Pass."

Except for the portion on SR 29, SR 175 is not part of the National Highway System,[3] a network of highways that are considered essential to the country's economy, defense, and mobility by the Federal Highway Administration.[4]

History[edit]
Originally constructed in the early 1920s, it is one of the steepest and most difficult to drive of any California state highway. Until recently it was called the "crookedest road in California".[citation needed] Vehicles more than 39 feet (12 m) in length are banned from the Hopland Grade, due to its many tight hairpin turns and curves.[2]

Had the front bucket seats out of the 71 Demon and lookie what was under the driver's seat!! Yep, 51 years later and still there. It's pretty torn up but I have a good clean copy pulled from under the rear seat many years ago. I extracted this one out from the front seat and will keep it as a souvenir with the car.

My odometer got stuck turning over to 19,000 miles and a couple instrument panel LED lights were not working. So, I pulled the dash. Not sure if I got the odometer working, but all lights work now! Here's a picture of it out.

Update: took a drive in this beautiful weather and the odometer is working again!!

(Note to self: clean up your damn table)

Got the Dart out of the garage for the first time since October... charged the battery, aired up the tires, washed off several months of dirt and dust, and drove to the monthly car club meeting at the Steak & Shake!
I had two people tell me it's a beautiful car. I should wash it more often :)
