What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Still putting finishing touches on my stroker.

I finally broke down and put a 4 bbl on my Son's 75 Belair. The heads are ported and the factory 2bbl could not flow enough air/fuel to support the engine. If you were too aggressive with the throttle it had a bad lean pop.I had no problem with it but it was giving him way too much trouble....I found a nice 750cfm quadrajet core and a GM crate engine alum intake and it runs like a top now...

Still putting the 71 Demon 340 back together. Today I finished off installing the exhaust system on both sides. Man, this thing has some really choked down pipes where they go around the torsion bars to the manifolds. No wonder headers woke these cars up!! This car will just gave to live with these small exhaust pipes/system.

That's painful to look at. Hate that it happened.

If you can't find a part you need, this place in Georgia might have it. My brother recently got a front fender from them for his 67 Barracuda.

Installed the driveshaft in the 71 Demon. Unwrapped it from the newspaper I had wrapped it in back in 1994. Old news, so to speak!! Took the u-joint cups off and greased them up and then put the shaft in the car. Started installing the alternator and p/s pump but had to stop to paint the bolts first. Progress...slow but moving in the right direction.

Replacing the gasket between the oil filter plate and the block on the little beastie. It's a Felpro 70522, and my local O'Reilly's says they have one in stock. I've gotta make a run down there.

I got the new gas tank installed. I ended up undercoating it like the original. I put 5 gallons of gas in it and my gas gauge works now!

Thought this might be a good thread to quickly show what you are up to with your cars today, as an alternative for people who don't have full build threads for their cars.

I'll kick it off!

Today I bolted on the new Cragar wheels and tires and took it for a quick test drive with no front or rear glass. What a great traction upgrade! 295/50/15s in the back and 155/80/15s in the front. Gave the car a whole new attitude.
I also installed my new Champion Radiator that I bought from Challenger Gary a couple of months ago. It works great so far, ran it for about a half hour with a single 16 inch electric fan and the temp stayed very steady.

Now I am removing the old cheapo headers and installing a new set of Doug's along with a mini starter that I pulled from the local U-Pull junk yard a couple of hours ago for 22 bucks.

Trying to get it driveable for Mopars in the Park. I live about 20 minutes from the fairgrounds so it shouldn't be too bad a drive with the 4.56 gears. Really looking forward to meeting some members!

Not a darn thing. As always working on someone else's.

Doing a little bit of of tinkering to get ready for Mopars In the Park 2022. Haven't had much time at all in the last couple of years to work on it do to so many other irons in the fire of life. Took it for a little cruise today.

On my 68 Valiant finished both doors with new weatherstripping and vent windows. Put new rollers on the window regulators and greased them all up. Replaced the window rail felt too, just need new whiskers and that part will be done. Then back to finishing the hood.

Got some paint on the bare metal bits on the Demon. Ray Charles could to as well, but at least there is something. In the pics some wires need to be run after paint dries. Got the skinny slots back on and found the copper header gaskets are leaking at the block. So, I ordered new ones, not copper this time. Still waiting on the hood and praying for dry weather for Mopars in the Park.

Just keep working on the 71. Alt & p/s pump added now routing the fuel line. Radiator is in.
The 72 got wiped down in hopes of getting off the trailer and perhaps a few "spirited" runs on the street this week. Maybe get to Milan Dragway if they open this weekend. Have to put the slicks on and drop the exhausts for that. We'll see....
