Hours and hours getting the nose lined up nice...

Took the Scamp out for a cruise before it starts to rain tomorrow. Hadn’t driven it in 6 weeks.

My girl and I worked in the graveyard cleaning up and getting this mangled piece of pipe out of a muffler from a complete practically new, but used 2.5 inch dual exhaust system for an A body I picked up pretty cheap over the summer...headers in the background were included.
Not sure about the mufflers though.

Had some time to work in the garage before the festivities begin tonight. I mocked the battery shutoff rod through the reverse lense.

I pulled my 8 1/4 out this morning in preparation for installing an 8 3/4 that we’re building.

The Friday before Xmas I brought home a '64 225 /6 complete with the small block trans adapter plate and an early 727 attached. I bought the whole setup for the /6 to small block trans adapter plate sandwiches between them
when I got home with it, I just backed it into the garage and closed the door. I was gonna tarp it and park it back in the backyard where I keep the trailer when I'm not using it. But it has been raining a bunch around then/ and started up again on my way home with it.
Today my son needed to get into my garage to work on a car. So I hooked up the trailer to the Dakota and pulled it out, and while he worked on his POS (why he bought a VW is beyond me) I straightened up the motor (well as straight as a /6 is supposed to be haha), strapped it to the trailer, robbed the battery out of the dead Durango and set it on the trailer deck, and after I cleaned the points with emery cloth and electrical contact cleaner, then hooked up the battery cables still connected to the engine plus I ran a jumper to the coil "+", with a splash of gas in the carb and a screwdriver between the starter lugs it actually fired up and runs. ..
I was thinking about finding a piece of 5/16 gas line and dropping it into a can of gas, hook it to the fuel pump and see if it'll stay running 4-5 minutes..... Don't want to chance much more with no radiator connected..... Though I have a couple hanging on the wall and this motor actually came with hoses. .. this was a "barn find* that has been on CL on and off for at least a year and 1/2 that I know of .... I have no idea how long it has actually been sitting.

My son and grandson came over, and we installed the newly refurbished dash unit. We went ahead and connected most of the wiring harness clips while we had the backs of the panels exposed.

Put in a new dipstick and tube. The the old tube broke off. I tapped some 5/16 -18 threads, ran in a bolt and was able to knock it out from the bottom with a hammer and screwdriver. It was a pain as I had to move the alternator and take out the fuel pump to tap the treads, but it came right out. I also got a new new belt and HP hose for my power steering pump and put that together.

Making a stand alone box for my Innovate 3891 O2 sensor kit. So I can transfer it from Car to Car. And just plug it in the cigarette lighter.

My old one was still good, but my local Ace Hardware store has a good selection of neoprene washers that I would have used if needed.
