What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Just put my car on the ground for the first time in over a year!

I removed the steering wheel to attempt to repair some cracks as well as the steering column to sand and paint as I continue small steps toward the restoration of my 65 Barracuda Formula S

Since I got layed off on Friday I am gathering all the parts I'm going to need from the 2 67 Valiant's I parted out to get lots of misc parts ready to put this one together. I also evicted 5 mice from the shed for the 3rd time and hosed out my a/c box.

Put a bunch of moth balls in your shed. Mice will leave. They cant handle that camphor smell. Little noses too sensitive for it. I'd just rip the tops off the boxes and set them in the corners, or punch holes in the boxes and pitch em in the corners of the shed. Mice stay close to walls, so maybe just place em along the length of the shed walls. It works great.

I'm jealous, have my barracuda formula S in the garage for 5 years now. Still plugin along.
Enjoy your ride. Looks awesome
maaaan... don't tell him that!! he already thinks he's all cool and chit... if his head gets any bigger he'll need a bigger beak! - - oh wait, he already has a big ol' beak (car)...

Beak or no beak that is a fine looking auto-----
I am wrapping heat wrap on the exhaust to protect the GV control lines. Putting it on the ground and getting it ready to go to the glass shop for front & rear glass install. It will look like a demo derby car as the front end is not on it yet but it is drivable (I hope)

Don't worry, it's as big as it can get already.:D
Man that OD just kicks ***, and every time I drive it the difference is soooo odd.
Not sure I'll ever get used to that extra shifting after 3rd.

made an appointment w/ the front end man. installed fender mounted turn signal lights on the fish. always wanted them back in the old days-think they look kick *** ! plus, when the signal light bulbs burn out in the dash, I won`t have to mess with them !

I drove my Ruster around for awhile then pulled the aftermarket steering wheel out so I can sand blast it tomorrow.

Later today I'll be removing all my front drum stuff( drums, spindles) and getting everything ready for my discs. I'll probably take my a arms off and paint those aswell.

Dunno if this qualifies, however upon deciding to store my body rotisserie parts outside behind my shop i figured it was past time to finish up the welding, grinding, and painting it all up so nothing rusts out.

Theres 2 of these rocking horses, along with support poles, and ends that bolt onto the bumper mounts on either end.

I also did some more work on my 2x3 boxed lower radiator support member. I may be able to actually weld it in next weekend.

Just letting it set. Got so frustrated yesterday trying to set timing. Mark jumping all over the place. Move distributor slightly, timing moves 10'. Then idle speeds up and timing mark moves. I give up for a few days u till I can make some sense of this.
Yote

Got my boxed radiator lower crossmember welded in. Looks great, and i can actually stand on it too lol. I weigh 240 lbs, so it must be stout.

Heres what it looked like after the fabrication, and before installation. I still have the old sheetmetal lower support, and trimmed it back to tie in the rad support side pieces and such to make it appear somewhat stock.

I plasti dipped my rusty Grant classic steering wheel and took the bench seat out. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the buckets put in and then see if I can find a deal on some sort of floor shifter setup.

I'd like to get my hood scoop sanded and painted tomorrow too but that seems unlikely.

I spent some time detailing the engine bay. The Route 66 festival is just around the corner!

Went out to bleed the brakes again . Front disc have been giving me trouble. I have had firm brake pedal but getting sudsy bubbles . No leaks . gravity bleed , pressure bleed
and today had the wife do manual pedal , same thing . My conclusion , I'm chasing my tail , bubbles are created by bleeder screws. i'm moving on.
