What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Moved it forward, and moved things around so I could clean and sweep the floor, and get ready to start working on it.

These engines were next to the car, much better when the core is in storage, and the 413 behind it is in the car. Soon, all the boxes will be off the car and in storage also. Hard to get rid of a shelf after using it so long. :BangHead:
 
Spent last night on my back under it cleaning off more undercoat and rust so I can get some sort of paint on it before sliding the rear end under it
 
Put in new defroster vents and hoses (from a 64 Dart). Also pulled the fresh air vent and fixed the broken door with household hinges and #6-32 bolts.

I started rebuilding my 904. Got everything apart and it looks really good. Ordered an overhaul kit and shift kit from A&A.

I sold the 273 and transmission and swapped for this '74 transmission with the larger input shaft. The torque converter PTC made me is for a larger input shaft. I wanted to go through it before putting it in.

Cleaned the carb out a little better than I did last fall when I got the Monaco running. Found a plugged squirter, and wiped off the bigger deposits I didn't get to last year. Also adjusted the float level. Runs better, now on to plugs and wires.

Mandatory time off from work has been at least beneficial to my striping career.

Scrapper coming to pick up the rusted out 66 barracuda shell on Monday. Anybody with a need for an odd bit of upper body steel or ...? everything that can be unbolted is already off and a few things cut out for future projects. Mandatory time off from work has been at least beneficial to my striping career.

I am installing disc brakes on 8 3/4 in my 67 barracuda. I had to mount one of my new wheels just to get a look at how nice they are going to look.

With wore out drag radials on the back I wont be going anywhere with my car today!

funny you should mention that
i just replaced the N50s with a new pair of 275/60-15 nitto drag radials

hate the way they look, but ill love the way they hook

as far as doing things today, i only welded a little piece of pipe in the front subframe
hopefully on monday i can redo the fuel system and run the new fuel line through the pipe i welded in today
(probably total overkill but i dont want the fuel line to rub on the edge of the subframe and cut through)
 
Finally started the motor with the Holley EFI installed and the motor in the car. It was only on a run stand with a carb before.


Lots of tuning to do. This was the stock tune and I think the timing is at 13 to start. 850 idle rpms. Time to study a bit on tuning this thing, (efi).
 
Took the cuda for a trip to the grocery store and parts store in town today. . Got caught up in the draw bridge traffic.
"Damn this traffic jam, hurts my motor to go this slow.........."

Installed new Hellwig rear sway bar and some bolt in Magnum force frame connectors I had laying around. Need to get some gas to burn them in. The connectors not my first choice but got them in a parts deal, so I threw them on.

Not getting anything done on the car or truck for the last bit. Working on the lake hot rod. We can cruise this thing around our resort so we figured we might as well pimp it out a bit. I had way grander plans for it but my kids wanted to keep it simple. Like everything I do it's on a budget. Repurposing old ATV wheels with golf cart tires I stumbled across for super cheap. Forgot to take before photos so I found something on the net.

Laying on my back under the Toad (62Lancer) bending that long brake line from dist. block to rear end. I got 90 % of that done, I did the front lines yesterday. I have some of that copper alloy lie that is easy to bend. I have to order some more clips that are long gone. Hard on a 72 yr old wore out fart! Toobad none makes the pre bent lines forth Toad!

This is roundabout, but directly related to the 69 Dart!! Getting ready to build this n/a V6 for the red 92 Stealth. Soon as its done and back in the car, ill drive it to my friends house, hand him the keys, and then jump into the Dart and bring it home!! Trade complete!!
