What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Getting outer wheel house and trunk drop fitted and ready to weld in. Quarter has been test fitted and gaps are good so hopefully can get this side finished soon. AMD quarter "fastback cut to fit a notch" and trunk drop fit very well. The outer wheel house was a nightmare!

Did a 2 hour drive and picked up four 235 75r15 used tires to have some 15" truck tires on hand.

Have a water tank trailer that could use a pair as the 15" bias tires from the 70s on it are about to blow out the rotten sidewalls.

Also the guy had a like new single 225 70r15 for a spare for the Florida truck, to go with the 4 new tires on it now.

40 bucks on the four 235s.
15 bucks on the 225 spare.

Good deals, 15s are going obsolete, hard to find.

Nice work Casey. I missed seeing you at Mopar's in the Park this year. And was looking for your turbo slant 6 but couldn't find it.

I don't own the Turbo Slant, but a guy comes to the show with a Gold Duster with the turbo in it, on the slant.

They are bringing Mopars in the Park back to Farmington MN again this year, 6 miles from the Minnesota Home.

That will be a welcome show again, at the Farmington Fair Grounds.

What’s the date code on all the tires? They only 2 to 3 years old?

Nice enough the seller showed me the date code on the 235s, was 2020 so 4 years old.

Checked them all over good, no dry rot or weather checking anywhere, must have been on a vehicle that was parked in a garage.

Even between the treads no cracking. Had they been tires from Florida parked in the sun, the UV from the sun destroys them.

I had 2 sets of Michelin tires here in Minnesota, vehicles parked in sheds out of the sun and weather. Crappy rubber, both sets all weather checked in the sidewalls and between the treads with still half the tread left on both sets. Had to replace both sets with new tires at my expense.

So finding used tires with no weather checking was a pleasant surprise. At least they are going to be safe and hold air.

With the engine in, I re-installed the steering cross link. I didn't loctite and torque the k-member bolts to the subframe when I installed it a while back because I didn't know what to anticipate when the engine went in. I wanted to allow for some wiggle room if I needed it in order to hit the engine mount brackets. The k-member is out of a 73 Duster with different mounts than my '68 Dart. It all went together like a hand-in-glove. So, now I'll jack up under the k-member and one-at-a-time remove the K mounting bolts, apply loctite and torque them down to spec.
