3.580 stroke3.58 Stroke crank. You'll need to show us more pictures and measure the main bearing size to see if its for a 360. Any balancing slugs?

Yes, it is 8 bolt not 6.Any chance you can post more pictures? Does it have a normal torque converter and flex plate style register on the rear?
Same info I have that is what made me ask.Nice unit! 8 bolt flange is a forged unit.
I can’t find a listing in the last of the MP catalogs. There is a “978”, 3.58 stroke/360 main and a “979”, 3.79 stroke/360 main.
Both 8 bolt flange.
Any chance you can post more pictures? Does it have a normal torque converter and flex plate style register on the rear?
I bought out a passed class car racers remaining parts and this was part of the purchase.Sorry;
All my catalogues (even discontinued parts) and all my internet show nothing.
Closest I could find is P4452978 (billet 360 race) with 3.58” stroke and says the “actual main journal size is 2.8095-2.8105”. does not specify 6 or 8 bolt.
340 mains, 8 bolt, 3.58 stroke?
Nice crank but what the heck is it !?
Where did you get this rare mysterious piece!?
Sad to hear another has fell...I bought out a passed class car racers remaining parts and this was part of the purchase.
Forged no Hype.Pistons readily available for that combo! Hyper or forged.
372.61 rounded up for 373. A mere 10 cubes behind the overly touted 383 Chevy.
Give that bad boy a series set of heads now!
Are they ported already?
No, NOS untouchedAre they ported already?
What intake do you have?
I have the same book and saw the 978 crank but no 976 that is why I started this post. The two digit difference should have tipped me off but it would have been a guess. The similar P4452978 # in my catalogue I have here shows the closest I could find but still not your crank.
You have narrowed it down enough it seems to know its a sweet piece.
I’m liking the 340 mains on yours.

Doesn’t sound weirdI know this is gonna sound weird but 318 poly cranks were forged, had the 318/340 journal size and came with the hemi 8 bolt arrangement. We built some short stroke 301 cid LA small blocks back in the day for high winding circle track folks using the Poly 301 crank and a hemi flex plate.
P number says Mopar high performance part and has for a long time. Its the “P” number that gets me.
Direct Connection do “P”?
