What is everyone using for a cup holder in their classic?

I got this at our local auto store, hot glued ridgid packing foam on. It slides in and out easily ( for those that go to car shows). Mines been in for 2 years now and no spills with lots of spirited driving.

PVC couplers attached to buddy seat (or console) with 2 pair of rack mount equipment ears.

Landing in middle holds a coffee cup (after slot was cut in top side).

Full length hold a can or most cups up to about 24 oz.

I get lots of comments on these.

Pictures or its just a fabricated story.

I bought some stainless steel cup holders meant for installing in a poker table. My plan is to install them inside the console lid. With the lid closed everything will look stock.

@RedFish , i couldn't find a name or part # , but if you google " EEEkit car seat wedge cup holder" or " black seat wedge cup holder" , the style that I've had good luck with comes up. I'm not smart enough to post the actual link...

I just ordered one like in post #26. Not many options when you have a floor console shifter.

With a full manual reverse pattern valve body, i need both hands, no beverages allowed in my Duster.
I grew up with nothing but 4-speeds, I did have a couple of pistol grip cars, but most of my early morning driving (coffee time) was in a 70 Chevelle, 396 L78 and the 4 speed. Never had a cup holder. Sometimes some balancing to be done especially in stop and go traffic. It was just what needed to be done.

And in those days, it was an actual coffee CUP, too- not a "travel mug". Coordination was key...

I remember a few years ago seeing a cup holder that would fit into an A body ashtray.

I think it was made by Classic Consoles. I have one for my Bug and it works great.

Do you think I can find one for an Abody now?

I have a spare console shell. I might have to try and make something up . Thanks Milehighdart / Matts440 for the pics. Both look great!

This thread brings back a memory.

A late friend of mine had a 72 340 4spd Demon, We stopped at a drive through. We both bought large drinks. He had a cup holder between the bucket seats. He pulled out on a 4 lane and a car was coming behind us. He jumped on it and cracked second. The tops came off of the full drinks and soda went flying. But we only noticed that after we saw the cigarette buts and ashes flying out of the ash tray.

We looked down at the same time after third gear. The soda that was left in the drinks were now filled with butts and ashes from the ash tray being full and open. This guy was so cheap I thought he was going to start crying. He picked up his drink and started pulling the butts out. Then he realized it was to late. He tried blaming me because I didn't put my hands over the cups to hold them. But I was opening my big mac.

Those were the Days!! 1975

We added double bacon an Cheese. and extra onions. They were pretty thick and messy. But? we were outside and could just let some extras drip and drop. Also there is the 2 second rule so no fries or onion rings were wasted. Droppings were picked back up faster then you could blink an eye.
