That`s the thing, evidently they cleared over the decals back then, so they let it run through the rest of the finish process. Very strange indeed.Good question to which I don't know the answer. Taking a page from the coin collectors, "mistakes" get really big bucks. An example would be the 3-legged version of the "Buffalo" nickel.

that looks like a bigsby tremolo but I don't see the trademark, hmm, a Gibson product?
