Where to get pre bent exhaust pipes and any suggestions on how to swage them to fit over mufflers?

I like to do everything that I can here instead of relying on outside vendors or shops.

Does anyone here have any experience with these? I'm looking to swap the exhaust in my 67 Dart when I do the engine swap. It will have headers, an H pipe, Flowmaster mufflers and 2 1/2" pipes so these seem to be a logical choice.
Free shipping too.
The goal is to piece together a good exhaust system here at home without going to a muffler shop. I also need to know if there is a way to swage pipes to slip one into the other for a more positive connection.

you've heard me beat this drum before... but the tti pipes aren't much more money and you *know* they fit like a glove.

to me, it's what's the cost of frustration? fiddle ******* around with something that only half *** fits and works vs. something that pops right on like it's supposed to is worth a few extra kajiit kuble koins to me.

fwiw, i have a pypes kit on the 68 nacho and it hits everywhere. the quality of the components is nice, but the fit is straight dog water.

Yes.

You will need an exhaust pipe expander.

This ones available at Summit but I bet Hr. Freight has one as well.

I bought a Summit 3” kit for my Swinger. Fit like **** so I brought it into Boise Muffler and they made it fit like glove and added a crossover for $300 !
Owner is a GTO fanatic and they do a lot of custom work . Couldn’t be happier !

I bought the kit from Jegs for my '74 360 Duster. Had to trim and fit every single piece, but now it's all welded rather than clamped. I also bought 2 sets of flanges and put them at the front of my mufflers, so I can drop out the mid section if I want, as the H pipe is under the trans tail housing. Yeah, it was way more work than I expected.

And they come with the rear hanger/hardware to install them IIRC.

Gotta say Kerndog, I am likeminded but hopefully, you've got access to a lift and oxyacetylene.

If not, this is a miserable job to do on your back.

Trying to maneuver pipes around to get clearance, especially around the gas tank , hang mufflers and making sure nothing hits can be exasperating.

I'm definitely on the TTi express here. Their product fits great and also is available with an X-pipe which I prefer.

I'm curious if you've ever gotten one of those tools to work. I've never had any luck with those expander tools on exhaust tubing of decent thickness (16g maybe?).
Important to grease or oil the inside of the pipe where the expander is going to reduce the friction fight against itself.
 
Car lift, yes.
Torches? No....I'll weld this with the MIG.

Wait until you have got to bend the exhaust pipe in order to get it to fit right.

A little heat used in the right place with the exhaust bolted up and you can bend the pipe in the direction needed.

You won't be able to do this while the pipe is out of the car.

Mig is great after the pipes are correctly orientated.
 
Might be worth your trouble to run to a shop to have the female ends you need done, done by a muffler shop with one of those hydraulic expanders.... they do a nice job for cheap.

I think that there were a few years that later model Mustangs came with something like this.
For a manual trans car, this is really great since it would help to have it easily removable for clutch replacement jobs.
For automatics, it would help for drag racers that either like to try different converters or blow up the transmissions frequently!
 
You know the 67s have to route the tail pipes to clear the gas tank strap. Right?
And AFAIK 67 used a different tail pipe hanger than 68-9, ones off the side of the rail and one is off the bottom. I could be wrong about that. But you may want to look it that over so you know where they will be coming out under the valence.
And TTI doesn't use the factory muffler hangers or locations. They hang off the seatbelt bolts. So muffler angles and position are a few inches over. It looks like the TTI tailpipes can be cut and rewelded but that project is in my 'round too it pile.
 
Yes, 67's tailpipe clearance is a one year only deal. And I think pretty close due to the sideways gas straps.

Even the 2 1/2" tail pipes are close on 68-76 A-bodies. I'd really be careful with the fitment on a '67
